Sorry I know you are all a fan but we were not. We liked Varasano's much more.

I tried it about a week and a half ago. I've been back at least three times since. It would have been four but they were closed last night.

I find it very funny. On the one hand, Varasano spent years perfecting his craft in his home kitchen, garnered fame on the Internet and opened a restaurant where people pan the service and find the food uneven (though outstanding in my opinion).

On the other hand, Antico opens with no intention of providing on-site dining and they produce a product so good they have to reconfigure the space to accomodate customers.

Varasano's operating costs are probably 4x those of Antico yet Antico is getting all the raves. Restaurants are a brutal and fickle business. I admire anyone willing to take it on.

There's a lesson here. Set low expectations and exceed them by a wide margin.

Been going since Blissful Glutton first blogged about it. I love it but sometimes it can be overly saucy.

Went there yesterday for lunch. BEST PIZZA I've ever had in Georgia !!! Was lucky enough to be invited into kitchen to dine, and had a BLAST ! Alot of laughter, great music in the air, and the amazing aromas in that kitchen ! Mama mia !!
I will not eat pizza anywhere else, I'm THAT spoiled by the wonderful experience I had at Antico. I will be a regular there, and I live nearly an hour away !!!!

On my short list. Hopefully, they're open over the holidays when we're all tired of turkey.

Husband brought the San Gennaro pie home for us to eat one night - a world of yum! And probably one of the best pizzas I've eaten in quite some time.
