New feature! Garage sale location maps

We’ve added a new feature on ajcexchange that we hope you will find really useful. Garage sales are so popular on ajcexchange, and now when viewing the detail listing for each individual garage sale, there will be a Google map to show you where it’s taking place. Click on the map and a box will pop up, allowing you to get directions to the garage sale from your location.
This feature will be really handy for you bargain hunters that want to visit multiple garage sales in a single day. Try it out and let us know how it works for you. Let us know if there are any other map features that you would like to see on ajcexchange!

Is there any way to divide ads by location. The garage sale section is great witht he maps, but you have to search through hundreds of listings to find the ones in your area.

i agree with ms.cross. Locations,the way the AJC previously listed estate/gararge sales was so more user friendly as you have to go through all to find the communities you want to see listings for. Also, the previous and expired yard sale notices need to be removed. Because not user friendly, takes more time than necessary to read.

Hello Deborah and Linda, thanks for your feedback. We just want to let everyone know that in order to make your garage sales search more specific, include the city in your search. For example, if you use the search terms “garage sales Alpharetta” or “Alpharetta garage sales” it will result in a much more manageable list to browse. Hope this helps!

I totally agree with Deborah Cross – This site is amazing for both selling and finding stuff but the garage sale section is very time consuming. It takes forever to scroll through the listing sto find sales in your area. Thanks

Finding Garage Sales should be easier to naviagate. You should be able to search by city and date.

Everyone I speak to at estate/garage sales complains about this website. It is very difficult to pull up ads in specific areas of town. I tried your suggestion above and it still brought up real estate sales along with garage sales.
I have called twice in the past to explain the problem. I like the old AJCexchange better.

Trying to find the right estate sales on the AJC site is impossible. The editors should look at the Washington Post for an example of how to do this properly, starting with listing “Estate sales” on the home page. Then it simply lists them by area, and they’re not mixed in with all kinds of other junk.
