Huckabee is as wrong as the birthers
Oh, goodness gracious. You know those zombie movies where the illness keeps spreading and pretty soon even some of the main characters have the plague?
Well, that’s pretty much what’s happening in the Republican Party, where birther/zombie madness is spreading. My colleague Jay Bookman has an excellent post about the Georgia House, which seems close to passing legislation that would demand Obama’s birth certificate if he is to appear on the ballot in 2012.
And now Mike Huckabee has caught an attendant form of the plague. He says, correctly, that Obama was born in the United States, but he believes, incorrectly, that Obama grew up in Kenya and, therefore, is not, you know, like us.
Via First Read, here’s a partial transcript of an interview Huckabee gave to a rightwing radio talk show host:
MALZBERG: Don’t you think it’s fair also to ask him – I know your stance on this – how come we don’t have a health record? We don’t have a college record? We don’t have a birth certif- why Mr. Obama did you spend millions of dollars in courts all over this country to defend against having to present a birth certificate. It’s one thing to say, “You’ve seen it, goodbye. But why go to court and send lawyers to defend against having to show it?” Don’t you think we deserve to know more about this man?
HUCKABEE: I would love to know more – what I know is troubling enough. And one thing that I do know is his having grown up in Kenya – his view of the Brits, for example, very different from the average American. When he gave the bust back to [of Winston Churchill] — of Winston Churchill, yeah. A great insult to the British, but if you think about it – his perspective growing up in Kenya with a Kenyan father and granfather, their view of the Mau Mau Revolution is very different from ours, because he probably grew up hearing that the British were a bunch of imperialists who persecuted his grandfather.
MALZBERG: He despises the West, he despises the Brits, and I think he could take it all out on Israel, and that’s why he despises Israel. He’s not too thrilled with our history either… Would you say to him or at least ask him in a debate: Why did you go to court and spend millions of dollars on lawyers to prevent from having to show your birth certificate? If you have one, and it’s there, why not show it?
HUCKABEE: The only reason I’m not as confident that there’s something about the birth certificate, Steve, is because I know the Clintons well, and believe me they had lots of investigators out on him, and I’m convinced if there was anything they could have found on that they would have found it and I promised they would have used it.
Interesting that Huckabee manages to get in a few digs at the Clintons, too.
For the record, Obama grew up in Hawaii. That’s the 50th state in the union. You know, fifty stars in the flag? He spent part of his childhood in Indonesia, but none of it in Kenya. It’s all right there in his book, “Dreams from my Father.” Nothing hidden from view.

I formally announce the formation of a new club. It shall be called the 90/10 club in honor of Obama, keep up the good fight, kamchump, and granny godzilla.
The 90/10 club is so named because 90% of what they say is boolsheet and the 10% that is true you don’t know which 10% it is.

Halliburton is the company that Vice President Dick Cheney used to run. He was CEO from 1995 to 2000, during which time Halliburton Products and Services set up shop in Iran. Today, it sells about $40 million a year worth of oil field services to the Iranian government.

Halliburton was also publicly lauded by the Clinton administration for doing a fine job. As for selling oil svcs to the Iranians its a 2 way street. We need that oil and dang well better help them. Perhaps you’ve noticed that with the community organizer in charge gas is now at $3.39-I filled up yesterday and going higher. Can’t blame this one on Bush and his oil buddies now can? I bet all the poor people that voted for the fool just love putting gas in their tank now don’t they.

Huck probably just misspoke. All foreign countries are the same to a lot of us Southerners. Kenya, Indonesia, what does it matter? What matters is what he grew into, and the jury is still out on that. He could still be the worst or the best we’ve ever had.
As for Huck, I could accept him over any of the other GOP hopefuls except Romney, if he’d drop the Christian overtures.

So Mr. Huckabee is concerned that Pres. Obama grew up in “Kenya” (or “Indonesia”, or wherever…like, I mean, you know, hey! what’s the difference?: they’re all the same, not U.S.A.!). So he’s “not like us”. Probably a good thing, too! For sure, Pres. Obama is NOT like those in Mr. Huckabee’s irrational & uninformed group.
I wonder who Huckabee would include in those categories of the types “us’uns”, “you’uns” and “them’uns” (as I learned as a child in North Georgia). He will never find an electorate to make him President.

What a joke! It’s right there in his book, “Dreams from my Father”. Is that supposed to make it true-because he wrote it in his book? I guess if he told the truth about everything else, and had an ounce of credibility, and weren’t the worst president in the history of the world, we could maybe believe it. This embarassment to the Office of President of the United States should have to show a real copy of his birth certificate and his college transcripts before the next election because his actions-like not prosecuting Black Panthers in front of polling places; bowing to foreign leaders; and offering to meet with Iran and North Korea’s wacko leaders; just to name a few-indicate that this guy is the first anti-American president we’ve ever had, and he has to go before it’s too late.

When it comes down to it, it really doesn’t matter if he was born here. He is no doubt the worst president ever, but it isn’t his fault. It’s the fault of everyone who voted for this incompetent, inexperienced, narcissistic, weak, totally lost community organizer. And we’re all suffering because of them. He can’t help it.
