A new low for Rush Limbaugh?

For the most part, I think Rush Limbaugh is better ignored. He’s a shameless liar who has helped turn incivility into the national past-time, a demagogue who has done more than his share to divide the body politic. And made hundreds of millions of dollars doing it.
But his utterly classless mocking today of a visiting dignitary — Chinese President Hu Jintao — ought to embarrass many of Limbaugh’s ardent fans. While Limbaugh frequently engages in race-baiting, his performance today was a low ebb even for him.
Commenting on the fact that Fox didn’t immediately provide translation during Hu Jintao’s press conference, he mocks the president’s language in the childish and stupid faux Mandarin that was typical of bad Hollywood slapstick of the 1920s and ’30s. (h/t Steve Benen):

“We’re not gonna gyp Fox,” Rush Limbaugh said. “I wanted to gyp it because the — well, the — Hu Jintao, he was speaking, and they weren’t translating. They normally — you have some translator every couple of words. But Hu Jintao was just going [mocking Chinese speech for 20 seconds]. Nobody was translating. But that’s the closest I can get.”

It’s not even funny — just dumb. If you can stomach it, you can hear it on this audio clip:

I can’t call it a new low, just more of the same. The criticism of the President for bowing or whatever is equally dumb. What’s wrong with being culturally aware and treating leaders of other nations with respect?

That is particularly true with the Chinese. How much does the average American citizen owe the people of China right now? $45,000 or so. And Rush’s Republican friends have contributed more to that particular problem than the Democrats.

I love how you call him a liar with no follow up proof. Get a sense of humor. I thought it was funny. I never hear from you when Keith Olbermann makes fun of Sarah Palin. But I guess that is different.

This wasn’t much of an article, but I do wonder about your civility. You call him a liar, demogogue, utterly classless. Maybe you didn’t listen to your idol’s speechifying in Tucson. Or maybe he was talking only to Republicans and exempting liberals from having to practice civility. Or maybe like most liberals, the content, the message gets lost and you concentrate solely on the delivery. Obviously “delivery” is all Obama’s speeches have going for them. Content is bupkus.

Linbaugh = Liar = Republican……

Few examples…..

The Biggest lie……

The Republican Party stands for fiscal responsibility or sometimes stated as they are “fiscally conservative” or that they will “cut spending”.

BUT….. here are the facts…..

Under Reagan and Bush senior, spending increased and the federal deficit grew to the largest in history—larger in fact than all previous deficits throughout our history combined! But that was outdone by Bush junior, who has exceeded even that excess in spending and fiscal irresponsibility, especially considering that he inherited the largest surplus in history from the most fiscally responsible administration in recent decades, Bill Clinton’s.

The much touted “experience” of Palin as a mayor of a “city” (population slightly over 5,000 when she was elected) at the Republican convention also includes a record of inheriting a surplus and leaving behind the largest deficit her hometown has ever had.

Georgia fact……..another lie….Republican’s wan to lower taxes….

But this article By James Salzer will say other wise…..

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

The state collected more than $30 million in fees from Georgians last year for programs designed to clean up landfills, tire dumps and hazardous sites and to improve 911 services.

The governor and state lawmakers put less than $2 million of the fee revenue toward those programs.

Instead, the money went into the state’s general kitty, where it could be spent on everything from education and prisons to hometown projects, economic development and farm programs.

Since the state began collecting the fees, the governor and lawmakers have diverted almost $150 million for things other than the intended purpose of the fees, according to figures from the Association County Commissioners of Georgia.

Not calling it a tax….. Hmmmmmm……. but it sure looks like one.

At least Republican’s won’t lie about the environment…..they expect to ruin the environment for profit !

That brings on the next lie….. “Family Values”.

Republican’s don’t care about the environment, even if their grand kids are negatively effected by it.

On a happy note, perhaps we will all celebrate the civility reflected in the bi-partisan House vote to repeal ObamaCare today. Proof that we can work together for the common good. Do you think the senate will even permit a vote, or is it more like one of those third world dictatorships, (sorta like that country led by the fellow whom a certain senate majority leader said Hu was a dictator?)

CT,

An even better comedy show what when Bozo tried to be Presidential. He tried to be funny…. that failed. Then he tried to be serious….. that didn’t come across too well. Then he reverted to what he usually does….. look at Hu and raise his chin in that narcissistic pose of his trying to look like a president. Hu just looked forward and seemed to ignore this clown and all of his posturing. Bozo was certainly outclassed today and it was evident that Hu and most everyone else knew it.

No we can’t agree. It’s one thing to experiment in ones youth, it’s quite another to preach how we should throw all drug users in jail while at the same time you’re addicted to hillbilly heroin. It’s funny how the right can excuse a certain ex-prez getting arrested for DUI too. The right never could understand it’s not about the drugs or the DUI…..it’s the hypocrisy we don’t like. . well maybe you guys do understand because you know it’s the truth….and you don’t like it!
