Latino vote could save Harry Reid and other Democrats
In mid-term elections that will be decided on the basis of turn-out — which candidate does the better job of getting his/her voters to the polls — some influential Spanish-language media outlets, including Univision, have launched last minute campaigns to get Spanish-speaking voters to go to the polls and cast their ballots. From The WSJ:
Days before the midterm elections, Spanish-language media have unveiled a get-out-the-vote blitz to energize Hispanic voters, whose turnout could be decisive in many races. . .
“There are 12 million Hispanic registered voters…If we all vote on Nov. 2, we will make a decisive impact,” says one spot featuring Judge Cristina Pereyra, star of the network’s court show, “Veredicto Final” (Final Verdict).
“We are going to be banging the drum of ‘You have to go vote, you have to go vote,’” said Ramon Escobar, Telemundo’s executive vice president of network news, in an interview.
Although Latinos are projected to make up less than 10% of the nation’s voters in November and are less likely to cast a ballot than the rest of the electorate, their participation could be decisive in states like Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Nevada and Texas, which have large Hispanic populations and competitive races.
That initiative could make a difference in tight races across the country, such as the contest between tea partier Sharron Angle and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. The Democrat has cast his lot with Nevada’s Latino voters, supporting comprehensive immigration reform, while Angle has run vicious ads casting Latinos as criminals. (See video below).
Angle’s ads and similar campaign invective have helped to create a climate in which nearly two-thirds of Latinos in the United States think they are being discriminated against, according to a poll by the Pew Hispanic Center.
There is every reason for Latinos to turn out heavily on Tuesday.

Somehow the thought of voting for a 70+ year old white, male, professional politician does not appeal to this Hispanic voter.
After what the Democrats Bill Clinton and the White House have tried to a Hispanic canidate Marco Rubio in Florida, I say, with saddness, I can never vote Democratic again.
There, in Florida, Democrats are trying to force out a Black man, to cause a white man to defeat a Hispanic candidate.

Perhaps the left is worried because it’s those on the right who have been charged and convicted for voter fraud and intimidation. Google: Republican National Committee regional political director James Tobin and GOP consultant Allen Raymond, leading candidate to head the Young Republican National Federation Rachel Hoff, Mark Jacoby and Young Political Majors hired by the California Republican Party arrested for voter registration fraud, etc
And while you are at it, you might want to look up “official charges”, GOP/Fox News talking points don’t count, filed and conviction for voter fraud against ACORN. You know what you’ll find: Neither ACORN nor its employees have been found guilty of, or even charged with, casting fraudulent votes.

If Republicans feel this is such a big problem and we need to send illegal people back, then why is Ronald Reagan, who gave amnesty to illegals, still the hero of the Republican party? A large number of Nevada ballots already had Harry Reid’s name checked. In Arizona, an off-shoot group of SEIU dropped off almost 3,000 voter registrations on the deadline day…and over 60% of those were fraudulent due to forged signature, invalid addresses, and registrants being illegal immigrants. And in California, elderly voters were being told to hand over their absentee ballots to strangers at the front door. (And I’m not going to pretend this just happens for one party…both parties are equally devious and dishonest.)
But there is no way Harry Reid is going to lose this election, Cynthia. In a few elections, where it would be tremendously embarrassing for the Democrats to lose…Reid, Barbara Boxer, the “Obama” senate seat in Illinois…the Republican candidate might well win the election, but will lose the vote count.

See here’s what I don’t understand. The reality with illegal immigration in this country is that 99.99% of illegal immigrants are latino. Karen Angle nor anybody else engineered that. Its just a fact. So portraying illegal immigrants as latino does not imply that all latinos are criminals anymore than saying all whites are members of the klan.
I also don’t understand why registered latino voters should be mad at Angle. They should be up in arms about the illegal immigrants and those that tolerate it because they are the ones that are placing them in a bad light.

Now we know why the Dems all want illegals to have a free and clear pathway to citizenship. They want and need those votes. It makes me sick that the Dems want the illegals to get rewarded for breaking our laws. I hope we DO adopt Arizona’s immigration law(s). I actually think we should adopt Mexico’s immigration laws. Hispanics should turn out in large numbers on Tuesday, as should Blacks, Women, Gays, Lesbians, anyone concerned about human and civil rights, environmentalists, workers. In other words, anyone who stands to lose if Republicans are elected, especially the reactionary Tea Party Republicans. Turn out and vote Democratic.
