Rush Limbaugh blaming Obama for oil rig disaster?

Rush Limbaugh will probably claim he was joking when he suggested that President Obama blew up the Gulf oil rig. But some of his “dittoheads” may believe him:

. . .but they’re going to send SWAT teams down there? He was going to send a SWAT team to the rig that blew up or are you going to send a SWAT team to other rigs? What’s going on here?. . .
I want to get back to the timing of the blowing up, the explosion out there in the Gulf of Mexico of this oil rig.  Since they’re sending SWAT teams down there now this changes the whole perspective of this.  Now, lest we forget, ladies and gentlemen, the carbon tax bill, cap and trade that was scheduled to be announced on Earth Day.  I remember that.  And then it was postponed for a couple of days later after Earth Day, and then of course immigration has now moved in front of it.  But this bill, the cap-and-trade bill, was strongly criticized by hardcore environmentalist wackos because it supposedly allowed more offshore drilling and nuclear plants, nuclear plant investment.  So, since they’re sending SWAT teams down there, folks, since they’re sending SWAT teams to inspect the other rigs, what better way to head off more oil drilling, nuclear plants, than by blowing up a rig?  I’m just noting the timing here.

Cynthia, c’mon now. Rush’s comments don’t need to be inspiring blogs. Don’t be duped into discussing his intentionally controversial comments while he laughs all the way to the bank. You could play this game every single day.

I didn’t hear it, but it plays just like the conspiracy theorists that claim that W was behind the collapse of the World Trade Center towers…. current administration stages calamity to achieve a political goal.

Dwight I agree! Limbaugh is a walking piece of waisted human flesh, but he does do a great service to society, which is, he reminds us that the people who listen to him are just as much a threat to our society as the people who listen to Osama Bin Laden.

The only people responsible for making this man rich are his followers. To me he’s just a means to great laughter. I wouldn’t buy a book or tune in to his show. Matter of fact, I’m almost sure I never make purchases from people who sponsor him or any of the other right wing talk show host.

(Well, folks made it clear that Katrina was Pres. Bush’s fault.)

Correct me if i’m wrong, but I thought Bush was faulted for sitting in Crawford, TX playing the no gov. intervention card, while an entire U.S. city was underwater I don’t recall W. being faulted for the fact that Katrina took place. It would be assinine for the Pres. to commit gov. resources to a problem that can be taken care of by the company involved if it isn’t necessary. DUH!

I quess this conspiracy b.s. can go both ways. The only difference is that the idiot in the white house now would destroy an oil rig and ” f ” up the enviroment to say that we can’t drill anymore because it would mess the enviroment up. since Bush was responsible for 9/11, I hereby officially blame Obama for this oil disaster. It happened during his presidency so it’s HIS fault.

I hope Michael Moore makes another documentary and has time lapse footage of Obama reading some Karl Marx book while cutting back to footage of birds and baby seals drowning in oil.

I fully expect ABC/CNN/NBC/CBS/ and the thousands of newspapers out there to slam Obama over this. And I’m sure it will happen since there’s no liberal bias in the news media.

You betcha.

Or let’s blame Palin, who isn’t even in public office.

Or the tea party.

I’m sure that somehow racism is partly to blame for the oil spill.

Ms. Tucker, I’m not a Rush fan, but it appears you only copied part of the story. BTW Byron, there WAS an emergency shut off valve installed on the rig.

It did unfortunately malfunction.

So Murphy’s Law is to blame moreso than your greed boogeyman. Sorry

“The quickest way to stop the leaks is to activate the blow-out preventer, a piece of back-up equipment installed near the wellhead, which has failed to function properly since the rig went down.

BP said it was trying to activate the giant 450-tonne, 50-foot high machine using remotely operated submersible vehicles.”

I tried linking to the Yahoo news story but it wouldn’t let me.

The acoustic shut-off safety feature that would have stopped the leak, was not in place because the Cheney/Bush Fraudulency exempted BP (and the others) from having to put it in place, but off the coast of Norway, for BP (and others) it is required. Where is the problem? It is in the very nature of our corporate owned state and the mindless minions on the Right who keep it in place. “Spill Baby Spill” has come back to bite the Right in the arse and the Democrats, better make sure the teeth marks don’t go away any time soon .

It WAS a joke Ms. Tucker — no ifs, ands or butts (except for the liberal butts) about it. Your lame-stream media are the ones who it was directed at.

When SWAT teams showed up during Katrina, the liberal media was all over the Bush administration for his “Police State” actions. SWAT teams are used in situations where PEOPLE are out of control, not for oil rigs that are out of control. Since when does the Department of Interior deploy SWAT teams, anyway?

There are about 4,000 oil and gas rigs in the gulf; some of them belong to Russia, China and Mexico. Are Obama’s SWAT teams going to inspect those too?

With 4,000 rigs to be inspected, one has to wonder just how many SWAT teams the Department of Interior has.

Liberals are too stupid to be running this country. Obama being the most stupid among them.

I listened to Rush today when he talked about Bozo and his lack of response to the oil spill. Bozo devoted about 30 sec to it in his speech today and followed by embracing about 3-4 min talking about the improving economy and tooting his narcissistic horn about how great he and his gang of thieves are in improving the way of life of every American. It’s all a partisan attempt at saying, “Look at me…. look at how wonderful the world is with me at the helm.” He can’t see past his raised chin. It gets in the way. He is the most pathetic excuse for a leader that this nation has ever known and I cannot wait for November when his neutering takes place. It cannot come too soon.
