It was a glamourous and relaxed Sarah Palin who appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show yesterday to officially begin “Going Rogue” — the book tour, that is. Her non-stop media tour continues this morning with an interview with Barbara Walters.
With the help of a talk show host who didn’t push too much, Palin came across as charming and sincere in the interview. But it’s still clear that the major point of her book (in addition to making lots of money) was to pin the blame for her poor performance during last year’s campaign on McCain’s aides, who, she said, over-managed her.
If you look just beneath the surface, however, her credibility doesn’t hold up. Her answers to some questions simply didn’t make sense. Others contradicted earlier answers. For example, the co-authors of a book about her have found that a segment Oprah posted online contradicted an earlier response Palin had given about her family’s reaction to her decision to run for veep.
In a segment of her interview with Oprah Winfrey, which was posted online but did not air on television, Sarah Palin was asked whether her family had voted on her decision to accept John McCain’s offer to join him on the Republican ticket in August of 2008.
“This time, there wasn’t a family vote,” Palin told Winfrey. “Other steps in my political life, I’ve polled the kids, and I have abided by some of the results of the polls that the kids have partaken in. This time, no.”
But in September of 2008, Palin told an entirely different story to Fox News’ Sean Hannity.
“What was your family’s reaction?” Hannity asked. “Was there time to huddle and have a hockey team meeting?”
“It was a time of asking the girls to vote on it, anyway,” Palin told Hannity. “And they voted unanimously, yes. Didn’t bother asking my son because, you know, he’s going to be off doing his thing anyway, so he wouldn’t be so impacted by, at least, the campaign period here.”
Of course, her dedicated followers — though they make a tiny minority of the voting public and are largely confined to the Republican Party — still adore her. And anyone who points out her contradictions is a liberal or, worse, a member of the MSM.

That depends on what your definition of tiny is. It was obvious to me she wasn’t that interested in what was going on in the lower 48 before McCain went calling. The tragedy is there were so many others that could have really helped his campaign. I supported Obama, but like Wooten’s lovely Sarah, he just didn’t have the qualifications, either.

Sarah Palin loves you too.
She will always lend a sympathetic ear to any issues you may have concerning feminism or gender/racial bias. Do not be dissappointed if she consults the Constitution for the answers you may ask her.
If you just give her a chance, she will show you the way.

“And any one who points out her contradictions is a liberal or, worse, a member of the MSM”
As usual, Tucker the mindless partisan has it backwards. You see, it is the fact that Tucker is a member of the MSM that forces here to go out and find petty contradictions like the above. (BTW: the AP predictably turned a team of ten “journalists” on the book for a “fact check” and they found a total of six “contradictions” several of which were not contradictions at all.) It isn’t her mindless knee-jerk criticism of Palin that makes Tucker a liberal. The fact that she is a liberal forces her to make mindless knee-jerk criticisms.
Tucker never read the book, nor does she have any intention of doing so. She heard that Palin was writing a book and then went out looking for articles critical of it, so she could copy and paste it and wrap a few mindlessly partisan sentences around it.
Not only is Tucker a partisan lacking any bit of self-awareness, she is also incredibly lazy. Does she feel any shame about taking a paycheck for contributing nothing more than a run of the mill commenter?

Cynthia, why are all you lefties scared of Palin? If this is the best you can do, she is a shoo-in as the next President. If it’s lies you wish to expose, turn your attention to something that really matters – all the lies and deception from Obama. Oh No, can’t do that! He is the first black President, he must succeed. At the cost of the country? Get off your high-horse and watch Glenn Beck a few days, then deny all the Obama lies clearly shown and heard in video that is not out of context.

Tucker is too lazy to even get her few paragraphs right. The link is broken and she employs the wrong usage of “any one”.
It is funny that Tucker searches high and low for flaws in a 432 page book, but she can’t even write a really, really short blog post without making mistakes.
What purpose does Tucker serve now? How many real workers at the AJC have been cut in favor of keeping her around to peck out this drivel?

Seems Ms Tucker is feeling a bit jealous or perhaps intimidated? Dont be “hay-in” on Sarah. She is quite charming and attractive. All Ms Palin is doing is cashing in. Much like…The Goron and his Global Warming Farce, his “energy credits” or whatever that house of cards is.
Yes, Ms Palin has just taken a page from the democratic playbook. Cash in while being a hot commodity.
I say more power to her. And Cynthia…its ok to make money and enjoy the fruits!! But you already knew that *wink*.

Listen Tucker – there are folks out here in the hinterlands that find Mrs. Palin refreshing. She seems engaged and not spewing some prepackages party line. She reminds us of us.
I would think, a liberal would be open minded and tolerant of folks with different point of views, being such a big tent party.
Here is a woman, a mother, happily married, someone with executive experience, self reliant, smart and good looking. What isn’t to like

I watched the interview on Oprah yesterday. She’s just as scripted now as they tried to make her during the presidential race, but I guess at least this time, she’s in charge of her own script.
She deflected Oprah’s question about Levi Johnston’s comments, didn’t deny their veracity, but said she didn’t want to comment on what he said and that she was heartbroken that he’s chosen to go down this path, instead of just focusing on this “most beautiful baby boy,” her grandson. But boy was she talking fast. Whenever she was trying to skirt an issue, her speech really accelerated.
I noticed that Donovan @8:22, when listing what he considers Palin’s positive attributes, listed gorgeous and young first. Very telling, since if she weren’t, shallow right-wingers wouldn’t give her a second thought, much less hold her up as a viable candidate for president in 2012.

In the book Sarah Palin attacks the staffers on the McCain campaign, such as Schmidt & Wallace. I would have thought she would have attacked the Democrats and others on the left. But no, the only “outside the Republican Party” attacks are on the press.
I still have a low opinion of her due primarily to her dragging her pregnant high school daughter out before the world’s media. I would not have done that with my daughter and I do not believe any of you would have done so either. And just so you can get a promotion at work.
And as far as attacks on the veracity of her book, the only ones I have seen are from the former McCain staffers who are documenting what they call “untruths” in her book. Republican attacking Republican. I am sure the Democrats are loving that.
But I congratulate her on a successful book and wish her well.

McCain’s campaign was lousy. Every speaker that came on during the convention gave the same speech. McCain the Maverick, they lauded. All stuck to the script, and it was monotonous.
Yes, their ineptness sunk the campaign, and Sarah wasn’t allowed to be Sarah. Just announce herself as a hockey mom and praise McCain.
So, yes, they did hold her back.
Quit hating. And no, I don’t think she should be in politics anymore.

Sunday November 15 2009
“THERE’S a climate of fear in the US among the military, law-enforcers, policy-makers, the media, opinion-formers and many ordinary citizens. A major cause is the intimidating Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), which is dedicated to Muslim empowerment, receives substantial funding from Arab governments and has been accused by federal prosecutors of funnelling money to Hamas.
So effective and ruthless is CAIR that anyone in authority worries before doing anything that can be misrepresented as anti-Muslim and lead to lawsuits citing religious or racial discrimination.
There were plenty of people who might have prevented the psychiatrist Major Nidal Malik Hasan from murdering 12 soldiers and a policeman, but were too scared to do so.”

Obowma’s credibility didn’t hold up during the campaign and yet he was elected, so if it’s true as C.T. says that Palin lacks credibility she none the less could still have a future in politics. All she needs to do is avoid the hard-left MSN journalists as Obowma avoids Fox News.

If she doesn’t know what papers or magazines she reads ( I READ THE ANCHORAGE DAILY NEWS MORE THAN SHE DID!!)…and can’t do more than the one-liners she espouses (Rodney Dangerfield did it better!)….and it took her 5 colleges to graduate with a “degree from charm school – O My LORDY”…..give me a Harvard grad….magma cum laude, editor of the Law Review….smart..articulate…and with a vision! Palin’s vision needs a new set of multi-focals; she couldn’t even see her own daughter becoming like Mary was with Jesus….but we know who the father is!!

I saw a survey of Democrat voters taken after the election, about why they hated Palin so much. Four of the top five responses…were things Tina Fey fabricated about Sarah for the SNL skit. Moreover, when you have the NY Times running front page stories with falsehoods (like saying she was a member of the Separtist Party…totally untrue by the way), Sarah has been disgustingly slandered. The bile blasted forth by Tucker and her minions is purely selective…Sarah would be deified were she a Democrat. If Jesus Christ himself returned as a Republican, Tucker and the journalist cabal would brand him as the next Hitler. NEVER, trust Cynthia or the media about anything…they sold out their objectivity ethos long ago.

SP would go away if media – mainstream and otherwise – would stop making her a news story, even when she’s not newsworthy. Oprah yesterday…morning talk shows this morning…and even you – Cynthia – chose to use valubale editorial space to talk about her contradictions. What a waste of energy.
If she is indeed the “same ol’ Sarah,” why waste space writing about old news. SP can’t go away beacause the media won’t let her. She brings sensationalism – just like the latest tabloid drama – to the sad state of current news reporting.

OMG! Well, I guess Cindy really got Sarah this time. Cindy has uncovered a blockbuster story about how Sarah Palin contradicted herself regarding making a very personal decision. Please, why is this even relevant?
I have another one for you, Cindy. Your president said in February that we MUST pass the TARP stimulus immediately to prevent the unemployment rate from going higher. Hmm. Is this a matter of Obama lied and people cried? He spent 787 billion of our money and, so far, hasn’t stopped the upward path of the unemployment rate. But he sure has lied about it (see new government web site).
Why don’t we talk about something that matters instead of using all this bandwidth to ferret out obscure statements by Republican candidates during previous elections?

The reason the press wants to talk so much about Sarah Palin is to keep all of you distracted from what’s really going on.
This is all a smokescreen.
They claim doctors and insurance companies make too much money but nobody in the MSM says anything about Beyonce earning $100 million dollars last year. That breaks down to $273973 dollars per day. How long do you people have to work to earn what she gets in one day?
Who’s overpaid?
Let her pay for healthcare and stimulus because I can’t even afford a trip to a cheap restaurant nowadays.
This whole thing makes me sick!
