The good news is that the plan will cover psychological treatment for adults and children who have been abused by Catholic clergy. The Catholic Church needs to address its own problems and stay out of our legislative process.

The problem with making it so only folks with a medical necessity for an abortion get covered for it is that a cottage industry of psychiatrists claiming it's mental health necessity for some 19 year old girl whose chose to have unprotected sex to have an abortion will grow up.

Fewer abortions = more crime. It's a statistical fact. Read Freakanomics.

P.S. to Ms. Tucker:

I challenge you to go live in Iran, Iraq or Afghanistan for just one year (on your own - no news affiliation or protection) and then come back and report if you think Islam in general is a good or bad religion. It would be a great project don't you think? You could write a book.

Ms. Tucker:

Well, it's 9:13pm and one more terrorist has been executed and gone to see Allah (the D.C./Virginia sniper). Was he a "bad man" ?

I can't wait for your "installment #3" tomorrow .................

To jconservative:

I hear you and appreciate your comments even though I may disagree on several important points.

To Azazel:

Under your logic we might as well abort every child and end humankind so no one will ever suffer, or feel pain, or have a bad day of any kind. In my opinion, that's not my decision but God's.

Pregnancy is not a medical problem, and therefore should not be treated as such.

AJC editor - you want to increase circulation? I've got an idea - stop running these inane columns from Cynthia Tucker

This whole discussion is a moot point anyway. The no abortion coverage amendment was a smoke screen. Democrats held their nose to get the House bill passed then will add abortion coverage back in during Senate/House bill reconciliation if the Senate passes something.

How does CT keep her job?

It is perfectly sensible for any elective procedure to be eliminated from health care coverage, and abortion IS an elective procedure in almost all cases.

Also, there is a difference between a "right" and what is legal. Abortion, based on roe v. wade, is legal but is not a right.
