The CIA pays another drug trafficker

You can’t make this stuff up: It turns out that Ahmed Wali Karzai —  the corrupt brother of Afghanistan’s president, Hamid Karzai —  is on the CIA’s payroll. Ahmed Karzai is also suspected of being a bigtime drug trafficker, so he fuels a lucrative drug trade that funds the Taliban.  The White House has tried to get President Karzai to crack down on his brother.

The ties to Mr. Karzai have created deep divisions within the Obama administration. The critics say the ties complicate America’s increasingly tense relationship with President Hamid Karzai, who has struggled to build sustained popularity among Afghans and has long been portrayed by the Taliban as an American puppet. The C.I.A.’s practices also suggest that the United States is not doing everything in its power to stamp out the lucrative Afghan drug trade, a major source of revenue for the Taliban.

This is reminiscent of the CIA’s ties to the contras, who fought the Sandinistas in Nicaragua during the 1980s. The contras also used the drug trade to fund their activities.

I can write the movie script for the Hollywood production that will probably follow these revelations. Remember George Clooney in “Syriana”?

Clooney could play Daniel Ortega. But Syriana stunk.

Here is an interesting piece of history. In 1999 the Taliban was 96% successful in shutting down the poppy crop. (Google “taliban poppy” for info). It started up again after the US invasion. In other words they did something that all the king’s drones and all the king’s men have been unable to do in eight years. Pretty predictable results when the CIA is in bed with the kingpins, and being in bed with drug kingpins is pretty predictable for the CIA too. They like gangsters – easy to bribe, and it frees up their own goons for other work.

The more interesting question is why the CIA decided to “out” Karzai?
He has been on the payroll for years & it was a closely held “secret”.
Within the past week the CIA payroll story has been leaked all over DC.
Why?

The NY Times busted the story but other people had the story & sat on it. (Apparently trying to get a second source.)

That is the intriguing question to me. Why leak the story now?

Cynthia can you help?

This can’t actually be news to anyone. The drug kingpens/tribal warlords have been on our payroll since just after 9/11. Don’t believe it? Sherm just pointed out the facts. Check ‘em.

The more important question is when will the new shipments of Heroin be hitting U.S. shores?

Cindy loves to get here news from the New York Slimes. Shouldn’t that tell you something? She gives references from a George Clooney movie. Shouldn’t that be a clue to her background? Nancy Pelosi dukes it out with the CIA and call them a liar. How is it that when liberals capture control of the White House they knee-cap the CIA? They fail to realize that the CIA is extremely successful in obtaining valuable intel on our enemies. It cannot do this by politely asking for the information. Liberals live in la-la land thinking that we always wear the white hat. Our enemies rely on the likes of Pelosi and Tucker for cover.

You don’t suppose the CIA leaked this story as retribution for being “prosecuted” by Eric Holder for (gasp) torture?

I can hear the libs squealing for glee from here.

So Karzai = Noriega

Makes sense.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Same as it ever was.

” They fail to realize that the CIA is extremely successful in obtaining valuable intel on our enemies.”

And you fail to realize or accept that the CIA has also done some horrible things. And not always for the greater good. The CIA are the one who flooded Viet Nam with Heroin in the late 60s early 70s. They figured it would placate our troops to make them more manageable. Thats why so many came home hooked. And it is indirectly responsible for the heroin/opiate problems we have today. Which led to Afghanistan growing more poppies.

And who do you think funded the Base to begin with. Who would Bin Laden be without the CIA?

Uh no…during the late 60’s early 70’s the CIA flooded the US with Heroin that was purchased from Vietnam.

Heroin was not nearly as wide spread in Viet Nam until they made it so, and yes they also flooded here.

Didn’t I just hear that 2 Muslims have been appointed to the National Security Council? Sure, let’s let Muslims infiltrate our government so that they can be even more effective at taking this country down from the inside. They have plenty of help from Obama and his disgusting cronies.

Joan, if we discriminated against Muslims but excluding them from positions in government due to their religious backgrounds, we would be violating our own laws which, would in and of itself be Anti-American and thus by NOT hiring them we would be “taking this country down from the inside”.

The CIA depredations should not shock anyone. Cheney probably didn’t out Karzai. Maybe Valeria Plame outed him!!!

If we could have had an president/entertainer from the cast of “Hellcats of the Navy”, we’d have totally destroyed the Taliban by now. Rush Limbaugh hides behind the fact that he’s an entertainer. Ditto Glenn Beck. (And Jim Cramer).

Well B-movie actor Ronald Reagan didn’t just hide behind it, he served as the model for the movie “Rainman”. “Yeah, tear down this wall, yeah. There’s 15 thousand 300 and forty bricks at Check Point Charlie in Berlin, yeah. Exactly, yeah….”

We finally have a the president who is not a clown, or an actor, or a an idiot savant.

Well said ‘broe’…One needs to go no further in trying to figure out the ‘conservative mind’ than to witness that they still believe Ronald Reagan wasn’t an idiot and was good for the country. Maybe the for the bigoted and greedy – a substantial percentage I grant you, but not ‘The’ Country.

By the way, the guy that wrote ‘Legacy of Ashes – The History of the CIA’ – Tim Weiner says that it was probably the Generals that ‘outed’ Karsai and the CIA, because they’d had enough of their s**t.

The other question is, why did the Obama Administration choose to continue this Bush Administration practice?

Just like they did with domestic spying, rendition, indefinite detention, military tribunals…..

Does this count as part of the job recovery jobs? I’m just wondering. It was stated there were X amount of jobs created and this must be one of them.

If Cythi says it it has to be true. Why don’t they put her pieces on the front page rather than on that tissue soft back part of the paper. I think it’s a statement against her personally and against her views. We must picket the AJC to allow Cyhni ’s pieces to be seen on the front of the page rather than on the bottom of the bird cage. We need change.

“The other question is, why did the Obama Administration choose to continue this Bush Administration practice?”

Because these “presidents” are all paid puppets of the same oligarchs.
