Thanks for truth telling, Cindy. I see the right-wing preachers have their thugs beating up on you. That only makes you look more glorious. The TeaBaggers are racist, suicidal, and contradict everything they aim to believe about justice when it helps them slug harder. The majority can see that. The majority also can see that you are not that way. That's why we listen to you.

Man, a lot of people posted on this one today. My views may not get read. I hear you Cyth. You're absolutely right. I just don't understand why no one has come forward before you to say this. Maybe they were too cowardly to admit what's going on.

I believe that the government should not keep people's safes and whatever they keep in their safes should be private and their own property. Thank you again, Cyth for pointing out to us how government is taking over our own private safes that we keep their cash, their stash and their hash. I urge everyone who reads this to contact their congressman in regards to this issue. We must have our safes secure!

Linda @11:32 am

For your information, I’m not a liberal, but clearly not a conservative either. That makes me a political moderate, Linda, but you were talking rather than listening. And neither did you pick up on the fact that I, too, believe in helping others help themselves. That’s what true education is all about.

But there’s one major difference between the two of us (besides the fact that I’m a gentleman and you’re not), and that’s who and what we live our philosophies for. You do it for you and your family tradition, while I, on the other hand, do it for the country as a whole, not for any selfish reasons at all. So by definition, Linda, that makes me the patriot, not you, and once again you’re proven wrong.

Wow, we’re so similar but so different at the same time. But if you want to discuss it further, I’m more than ready. Are you a Christian, Linda? You say you’re a conservative, and most conservatives love to brag about how often they go to church. So….???

Linda, 50,000 military men and women gave their lives in Vietnam. We lost the war (regardless of who is to blame) and we did not lose a single freedom. I know this will make a lot of readers wish me to burn in hell or get hit by a large truck going at a high speed, but in my view the ACLU has done more to preserve our freedoms than every war fought after WWII (not including WWII). We did provide freedom to peoples in other countries like Korea and Kuwait, and that's good.

I don't harbor any dislike for the rich, but my point is that they have almost all of the money. The reckless shopping for US goods and services is just a one time thing to get us out of this recession. The rest of us will continue to buy imports because that's all they have at places we shop.

Mr. Middleton, When a liberal runs out of ideas & can't dispute the facts, he or she just attacks the messenger. You are neither a patriot nor a gentleman & you certainly do not know better than most of us.

Sherm, Hundred of thousands of our military have died defending the freedoms we enjoy in our Constitution.
There has become a trend in this country to demonize rich people (except stars) & anyone who has more than us, which is stupid. Yes, there are rich, selfish people, but there are many rich patriots. Without them, we would not have many of the hospitals, colleges & universities, museums, etc. We also wouldn't have jobs since half of the country work for small business owners, on paper, deemed rich.
Rich & moderate income households don't spend recklessly. That's why they have what they have. They're disciplined.
If we don't buy imports from other countries, we won't be able to export to other countries. If we only bought goods & services Made In America, our exports would dry up & unemployment would skyrocket. Few of us would be able to get to work since 65% of our oil is imported. The rest of us would just freeze to death.

Government protection usually results in requiring a silly warning label on the product. The label's purpose, to protect the manufacturer from a lawsuit when a human does something stupid. Example: Use of hemorrhoid suppositories.
