Like homosexuals formed the bulk of the Arabic speaking translators. Check to see how many interpreters and translators our military has altogether and then try to tell me the homosexual ones are being missed.

This debate ended days ago, but my two cents: Folks like Bill and Del have the mindset they do, and it won't change. The world has changed around them and passed them by, but they'll go to their graves unable to understand homosexuality as anything other than "deviant," "immorality," or "perversion." All scientific knowledge of how gay people's brains are wired differently won't matter. So why try to convince them, or continue to make a case?
I will however, point out just one thing; despite Bill's insistence that the thousands of gays who serve now could all "vanish" and wouldn't be missed a bit - I respectfully disagree. I simply point to the period shortly before 9/11, when a number of gays who worked as military translators were discharged due to their homosexuality. Sadly for the USA, those dismissed were fluent in Arabic, and their dismissals left our intelligence forces deaf to much of the Internet chatter right before the terrorist attacks. In that case, discrimination cost this country a price far too high to pay.

Only problem is your LGBT thing isn't about race. There's nothing wrong about being an ethnic minority. Homosexuality, on the other hand is...well...really disgusting, to put it mildly.

What is really disgusting here is that all of these arguments being used against LGBT floks gaining their civil rights are the SAME EXACT ones used during the Civil Rights struggle of the 1950's and 60's. It's amazing how bigotry does not change, isn't it?

Who cares? You know here we go again, liberal left wanting to change everything for less that 5% of the population. When will the left understand that 95% of the people is the majority not the 5%.... Do they teach math in public schools any more?

Yes, of course, Rand. Maintain whatever you please. It's not a problem to me. But 'genetic bias'? Imagine that, homosexuals blaming their unnatural sexual behavior on genetic transmission of a deleterious mutation. If that were so, the military would bar them from service on the basis of their inherited impairments. If only it were that easy. They could then be considered handicapped and thus unfit for the rigors of military service for that reason. The truth is much more complex. Their behavior stems from the desire to gratify themselves through a fascination with unwholesome practices. They may not have chosen the persecution that comes with the pursuit of their desires, but they did knowingly choose to indulge those desires in that particular way. Consequently, the desire to do what is unnatural quickly becomes addictive. It is the nature of addiction to deny that it is what it is. The social trend to legitimize depravity that we're now experiencing only serves to confuse the unwary and the impressionable and to make it easy for them to condone such behavior and to make such choices.

When all the dust settles the only thing that matters is that marriage remains defined as "the act of joining man and woman..."!!!

No PC re-defining of "marriage" in any dictionary or in legal terms SHOULD OR WILL EVER CHANGE the above definition!!!

Kamchak: Tell me Bill and Ben–when EXACTLY did you CHOOSE to be hetero-sexual?

Absolute best comeback I’ve ever heard, Kam. So ask we all! :)
