Here’s a little take-home test: Do you belong to either the right-wing or the left-wing fringe? The paranoid right-wing fringe believes (among other crazy things) that President Obama wasn’t born in the United States. The equally loony left-wing fringe believes that President Bush knew that terrorists would attack on 9/11 and did nothing to stop them. According to a recent poll, there is a larger contingent of loonies in the GOP than in the Democratic Party.

That was a humorous article, though it left me wondering whether the real point of the poll was to discover how many kooks there are among conservatives. Before you would cast the speck out of your brother’s eye …
At any rate, I was a little disappointed to discover that I don’t belong to the right-wing fringe, but I don’t have any reason to believe Obama wasn’t born in the U.S., and I don’t believe that Obama is the anti-Christ. I do have my doubts about Keith Olbermann, though.

All I know is that metro Atlanta is devastated, we have loss of life, power is out, and water is cut off in many counties. Barack Obama, FEMA, and the Federal government are no where to be found and have been silent on help with the damage. Hope and change my azz.

Let’s compare the two “offenses”. It is much more extreme to accuse Bush of intentionally letting 3,000 people die than it is to not be aware of where Obama was born. Tucker may try to conflate the two to continue her relentless partisan march to demonize people who dare not share her narrow-minded views, but this dishonest argument falls apart under light scrutiny.

The notion that everyone who does not know if Obama was born out of country is a “birther” is a joke. The question only asks if you think Obama was born out of country, not if he is legally President. For folks who don’t follow politics, they may simply may be confused by the cross-talk, Many folks are aware that Obama’s father was Kenyan and that he lives overseas as a child. Is it such a stretch that people may not know where the guy was born? Do we also think that all of these people are familiar with the naturalized birth requirement for the President. Liberal hacks intentionally conflate the two to make just the silly point that Tucker is making here.

Public Policy Polling is a partisan liberal polling source, so their numbers are garbage. PPP says that Democrats are 25-63-12 yes/no/not sure on Bush and 9/11. Rasmussen non-partisan poll has it at 35-39-26. The difference between the two polls is 24 points on whther Bush may have known about 9/11. Just to be clear 61 percent of Democrats think that Bush did or may have knowledge of 9/11, so Tucker’s claim that there are extremists on the left is laughable.

I don’t consider myself “on the fringes” of anything. I am just someone who believes that if you want something in this world, you go out there and earn it. I have never spent any money I didn’t earn myself, and in the payment of my taxes I have supported many people that are generational entitlement people. I guess I wonder why no one talks about people’s responsibility to take care of themselves. Why is it someone else’s responsibility to take care of the lazy, the indigent, the illegal, etc., etc.

If you were as “non partisan” as you think you are you would have called out the fools that made the absurd claim that fema was somehow acting incompetently.
There is actually plenty of evidence pointing to massive incompetence by fema after Katrina. There is no evidence that there has been a problem with fema in the case of the recent floods. You chose to call me out, not them. Absurd.

Didn’t EVERYONE know the terrorists would bomb the WTC–AGAIN? Oops, we’re not supposed to say terrorists any more. They’ve been killing Americans for almost 40 yrs. all over the Middle East. They had ALREADY bombed the WTC. It was just a matter of time before they would try again. Didn’t we ALL see it coming, since 1993? I don’t know if I’m paranoid or loony but it took a Rep to finally go after them on their own turf. Maybe we should have just given them a strong talking to, set down with them & reasoned with them, tried appeasing them again, seeked the UN on them, read them their rights, brought them on US soil, gave them attorneys, tried them in our court system & thrown them in jail. They would have surely learned their lesson & apologized. Boy Heide. No one ever asked to see the Messiah’s birth certificate. We all know HE was born in a manger.

The fact that there could be a single person who thinks that Bush knowingly let 9/11 happen is a lot more extreme (not to mention idiotic) than for someone to question Obama’s birthplace. Funny though that nobody has seen his birth certificate though, isn’t it? Hmmmmm.
Oh, by the way, I wonder how many people think that Bush knew about 9/11 and let it happen, but then call him “rushing into war” with the Iraq war. Hmmmmm, a bit of a dichotomy…

DannyX, loved your statement about Obama “shooting hoops” while people were yelling for help during the floods in Atlanta. There wouldn’t be a stereotype about that now, would there???
The thing people seem to forget about Katrina is that there was advance notice of days about the hurricane. I feel bad for the people but many of them decided to “ride it out”. Whose fault is that? Let’s not forget Mr. Nagin, the, ahem, so-called “mayor” of New Orleans. Closest to the scene, furthest from the solution. I know you didn’t blame Bush but pointing the finger at FEMA is just as inaccurate.

“mike your crazy, phony “non-partisan” detective work around here doesn’t have me or most others fooled.”
Never said I was non-partisan. This is the second post in a row where you put words in my mouth.
“There is actually plenty of evidence pointing to massive incompetence by fema after Katrina.”
And there was plenty plenty of evidence pointing to massive incompetence by the city, county, and state officials too. You don’t care about that because you care far more about attacking conservatives than you do about addressing the problem.
You ever notice that nobody seems to care about New Orleans now that Obama is in office? Maybe they never really cared that much about New Orleans to begin with. They just wanted to attack a President with an R in front of his name.
“There is no evidence that there has been a problem with fema in the case of the recent floods.”
For the second time, I never said they did. Why do you insist on putting words in my mouth?

There are so many meaningful causes to be getting involved in that could save and change our country for the better of all people. It really shows how much more educated we need to be about humanity and our true birth certificates. South – East – West – North

Dah, with all due respect, you talk about how much we need to be educated but if you look at your post, there are more incorrect/misused/misspelled words than I have seen in a long time.
DannyX, I was not displaying “phony outrage”. There’s no way to be phony when there was no outrage at all. I just thought it was funny, that’s all. Apparently you have studied Obama for quite some time to know what you know. I hope that during those studies you will have seen that Obama was a community organizer (big whoopee), had strong ties with ACORN (aren’t they in some hot water – heehee), lied about his knowledge of the federal funding to ACORN, had strong ties with William Ayers, and sat for many years listening to reverend Wright’s racist and radical views. So I don’t need to explain any of that since I’m sure you learned all of that during your Obama studies. Forgive me if I cannot support someone with this type of past. I’m sure you can understand where I am coming from since you clearly had a problem supporting Bush.

To those of you who think there’s still racism in America today, ever heard of the NAA White P, the White Caucus, white colleges, white churches, etc.? Most of the racists left in American today are old black men, led by a senator with the initials A.S. I think the current president is one of the smartest, most well-educated we’ve ever had. He’s a family man I admire & has the gift of a talker. Just because I’m a conservative & disagree with 95% of what he’s done & stands for doesn’t make me a racist.

FEMA is not a first responder to disasters. They come in afterwards to help the cleanup.
Has Atlanta area been declared a Federal disaster area? That’s when FEMA shows up to shovel out the money. And shovel it out they do. My experience was with the 1994 flood in Central Georgia. They would call us and ask, “How much will it cost the County to fix this?” I’d answer, “I’ll do some calculating and get back to you.” They would say we don’t have time for that, how much?” In a couple of days a check for whatever amount I said would show up and the work hadn’t even been done. So if you Atlantans see a FEMA vehicle follow it around because money will be pouring out of it.

Ray Nagin, Local Govt. and the State Govt. of Lousiana absolutely dropped the ball leading up to Katrina and during Katrina.
You people who blame the Federal Govt. need to better understand how Govt. works from a responsibility perspective before popping off ingnorantly and getting self rightious with your Bush bashing. Just because Bush was the President, it does not mean all of the screw ups should be laid at his feet. Some sure, but far from all…… I would blame the ignorant Ray Nagin before Bush any day.
I would blame the Corp. of Army Engineers for all the years leading up to Katrina…….. They knew what would happen, and did nothing. If memory serves there were both Republican and Democrat Presidents in office before Bush………
As far as Atlanta……… Who knows at this point, but it seems Govt. at the local level is responding appropriately. It seems our politicians have learned something from Katrina, even if it is only never to appear as inept and unprepared as Ray Nagin. That unto itself is a huge step forward for Atlanta. Meanwhile Ray Nagin gets another term after Katrina. How is beyond any reasonable person to understand. I guess all the Bush bashers here would line up to vote for a Ray Nagin like candidate in Atlanta if one were running…….. Go figure.
Some cities make progress others make mistakes. Atlanta still somewhere in the middle.

“Gee, I don’t know.” won’t suffice here, either. A tenther is someone who believes in the tenth amendment, which says that all powers not expressly given to the federal government belong to the states and the people.
These days, liberals have the notion that they can marginalize conservatives by adding the suffix “-ers” to their beliefs.
I suggest that conservatives begin to do the same thing to them, because liberals never like it when their own tactics are used against them.
So conservatives on this blog, let’s start talking about the choicers, the healthers, the climate changers, the Keithers, the UNers, the hybriders.

I remember as a young democrat there was an attempt to elect or pick an elected represenative that was best suited for our area and our country. All of sudden the hippies appeared wanting to change everything. Of course President Johnson’s war “vietnam” drove the luny left even further left. At the time, the leaders of the progressive movement always uses an event to gain a stronger foothold in turning America socialist, e.g. Nixion’s attempt to cover up the break-in. I remember the right or I should say conservatives in debates stating their points with civility and the luny left screaming outrageous stuff and continuous obloviating wich resulted in controlling the discussion. And some became terrorist (Ayers). I remember the left as the most uncivilized when compared to the conservatives. I often wondered when will the conservatives stop this control of the discussion and report their side just but not as radical. Well, it was years later when “contract with America took hold”. Since then the conservatives have had leaders and groups to continue the reform but events suchas Oklahoma bombing gave the lefty lunies a chance to point fingers at conservative. However, the luny left and the progressives did not go away, they simply reorganized. Now the left screams the right is uncivil suchas the Americans participating in the tea parties. We have a socialist as President, a bigot as AG, a black caucus that screams racist if you disagree with them, and elected representatives and congress who are inept. Yes the luny left will do damage but the mainstream will somehow come through all this and correct what will need “fixing”. In conclusion the luny left must believe now that the conservatives are not the meek they are accustomed to dealing with in past years. As we say down south,”You have a hard row to hoe”.

Sad to see the liberals always pushing the race button, Well, in case you weren’t aware because of our lousy media, Judge Carter in a CA Federal Court who happens to be an ex Military Officer has said he wants to hear this case and already set a court date so that we can all see who Barack Obama really is and where he came from. Ask yourself this simple question, why would Obama spend 1.5 Million Dollars in legal fees to cover up every inch of his past if he has nothing to hide??? I guess we will get our answer SOON. Don’t bother prefacing the same old unverified FactCheck or Snopes proof. Anyone with a brain knows that doctored online pictures are a dime a dozen and both of these sources may as well belong to Obama himself. As for the birth announcement in the Newspaper, even the Newspaper admitted that it could have been submitted by anyone without verification. This isn’t about race, it’s about our free country that my Father and Grandfather bled for so that you can enjoy your way of life, and if you don’t wake up and pay attention; it will suddenly disappear in front of your eyes. Obama doesn’t care about whether you are black or white; he just wants to control every single thing we do. If you can’t see that, then you should take off your blinders. He’s using race as a tool to divide us, and it’s working. So stop and think about what he is doing to our great nation, using his skin color to gain our support for his outright takeover of our freedom. What if white people only voted for candidates because they were white, we wouldn’t be in this mess right now. He won the election because he is a slick liar and used race to get elected. And now he will tear us all down for his own egotistical arrogant selfishness. It’s not about race; it’s about our freedom being snatched right out from under our noses. He his hoping with all his hope that we will all jump off the cliff while he stands there laughing as we jump. Black, White, Asian or Hispanic, We are all free Americans. Oh, and by the way, as for you liberals who are always calling Republicans racist, Michael Steele is the head of the Republican Party and he is also Black. WAKE UP AMERICA !!!!

Folks, I believe that there is an official birth certificate for Obama on file in Hawaii that was produced as soon as his mother flew there with him when he was only a few days old. I don’t understand why it hasn’t been released for all to see.

God doesn’t think he is Obama.

As you will recall, Henry Louis Gates, Jr. is the Harvard professor (Obama’s buddy) who got arrested by Cambridge Police several weeks or so ago.
Fred Reed was a police reporter for one of the large Washington newspapers. He now writes a column which can be googled ~ “Fred on Everything.”
Fred published a weekly online column in which he got to say the things his editors would never, ever have let him write in the paper. His stuff is iconoclastic and various articles have probably offended everyone..regardless of political orientation. So, with the warning that “This is definitely not politically correct,” here comes Fred…..
The following is an essay regarding the failings of a system and a culture. Please note that he elegantly describes the mood of many Americans and he does so without prejudice.
Slavery Reparations ………by Fred Reed!
On the Web I find that Henry Louis Gates Jr., the chairman of Afro-American Studies at Harvard, is demanding that whites pay reparations to blacks. It’s because of slavery, see. He is joined in this endeavor by a gaggle of other professional blacks. I guess he’ll send me a bill, huh?
I feel like saying, “Let me get this straight, Hank. I’m slow. Be patient. You want free money because of slavery, right? I don’t blame you.” I’d like free money too. Tell you what. I believe in justice. I’ll give you a million dollars for every slave I own, and another million for every year you were a slave. Fair enough? But tell me, how many slaves do you suppose I have? In round numbers, I mean…say to the nearest dozen. And how long were you
a slave?
Oh. In other words, I owe you reparations for something that I didn’t do and didn’t happen to you. That makes sense. Like lug nuts on a birthday cake.
Personally, I think you owe me reparations for things you didn’t do and never happened to me. I’ve never been coated in Dutch chocolate and thrown from the Eiffel Tower . I’ll bet you’ve never done it to anyone. I want reparations. Kind of silly, isn’t it?
But if we’re going to talk about reparations, that’s a street that runs in two directions. You want money from me for what some other whites did to some other blacks in another century?
How about you guys paying whites reparations for current expenses caused by blacks? Not long ago blacks burned down half of Los Angeles , a city in my country. Cities are expensive, Hank. Build one sometime and you’ll see what I mean. Whites had to pay taxes to repair Los Angeles for you. You can send me a check.
Now, yes, I know you burned LA because you didn’t like the verdict in the trial of those police officers. Well, I didn’t like the verdict in the Simpson trial. But I didn’t burn my house and loot Korean grocers, or burn down a city.
Over the years blacks have burned a lot of American cities: Newark , Detroit , Watts , on and on. Now add in the fantastic cost over the years of welfare in all its forms, the cost of all of those police calls people had to make, for cells and jails and security systems in department stores.
I can’t live in the capital city of my own country because of crime committed by blacks. Toss in the cultural cost of lowering standards in everything for the benefit of blacks. See what I mean?
Now, I’d view things differently if you said to me, “Fred, blacks can’t get anywhere in a modern country without education. We know that. We need better schools, smarter teachers, harder courses, books with smaller pictures and bigger words.. Can you help us?”
I’d say, “Hallelujah! Hoo-ahh! Not just yes, but hell yes. Let’s sell an aircraft carrier and get these folks some real schools and get them into the economic main-stream.’ I’d say It partly because it would be the right thing to do, and partly because I’d like to add you guys to the tax base.
The current custodial state is expensive. I’d just love for blacks to study and learn to compete and stop burning places. But is it going to happen? You may not believe it, but I, and most whites, don’t like seeing blacks as miserable and screwed up as they are.
I spend a fair amount of time in the projects. Those places are ugly. It’s no fun watching perfectly good kids turn into semi-literate dope dealers who barely speak English. It just plain ain’t right. But, Hank, what am I supposed to do about it? I can’t do your children’s homework. At some point, people have to do things for themselves, or they don’t get done. Maybe it’s time.
I’ll tell you what I see out in the world, Hank… I think blacks are too accustomed to getting anything they want by just demanding it. True, it has worked for over half a century. Get a few hundred people in the street, implicitly threaten to loot and burn, holler about slavery, and sadly the Great White Cash Spigot turns on.
Thing is, whites don’t much buy it any longer. Most recognize that what once was a civil-rights movement has become a shakedown game. Few people still feel responsible for the failings and inadequacies of blacks. Political correctness keeps the lid on — but everyone knows the score. Which scares me, Hank.
On one hand, blacks hate whites and incline toward looting and burning. (The whites you hate are the ones who marched in the civil-rights movement. Ever think about that?)
On the other hand, whites quietly grow wearier and wearier of it. Not good, Hank.
On the third hand (allow me three hands, for rhetorical convenience), blacks keep demanding things. As I write, you demand reparations for slavery. Blacks in Oklahoma (I think it was) want money for some ancient race riot.
Other blacks reject the Declaration of Independence. Blacks in New York hint broadly at burning and looting over a trial, yet more demand the elimination of the Confederate flag, and the federal equal opportunity apparatus, which means blacks want to sue Silicon Valley for not hiring nonexistent black engineers. That’s a lot of demanding for one month, Hank.
What happens if whites ever say, “No”?
Now, how about you? You’ve got a cushy job up there at Harvard, and you can hoot and holler about what swine and bandits whites are. I guess it’s lots of fun, and you get a salary for it to boot. But don’t you think you might do blacks more good if you told them to complain less and study more?
For example, if you want blacks to work in Silicon Gulch, the best approach might be to find some really smart black guys, and get them to study digital design ~ not Black Studies (as you teach). That’s how everybody else does it. It works. Then blacks wouldn’t feel left out, and racial tensions would decline. Sound like a plan?
Just out of curiosity, how many hours a week do professors of Afro-American
Studies spend in the projects, encouraging poor black kids to study real – life sho-nuf subjects?
