In this country, even crazies like Glenn Beck have their say

So now comes word that Glenn Beck’s ratings have surpassed those of the great Bill O’Reilly in the highly sought-after 25-34 year-old age group. Well, how surprising can Beck’s popularity be, really?

I occasionally watch Beck myself just to see what lunacy he’s committing. You know how it is: It’s like watching a bad car accident. You know you shouldn’t, but. . .

Some advertisers have found him too odious to represent their products, so they have pulled their ads. But he’s still pulling in viewers. So let’s all celebrate the First Amendment, which permits even crazies to have their say.

I love that you say nasty things about Glenn Beck but yet you have no facts to refute him. Your lucky you have the freedom to write a crappy, crazy argument where you don’t actually make a point what-so-ever.

We should be very thankful for the on air programs of Hannity, O’Reilly and Beck. How else would we learn the truth? Certainly not from the so-called main stream media.

When the people are persuaded to listen to only one view point, democracy itself is degraded…and often lost. Let not this great country become a dictatorship!

Cynthia, you’ll never be able to convince these losers that their first amendment right to worship these nutcases are safe. Beck’s ratings can only go up a few more notches, then they become a mute cause.

I’m waiting for Bill O’reilly to challenge Beck’s ratings, by saying something much more radical.

Brian – you really need to get out more (Hannity, O’Reilly and Beck) – you spend way to much time watching fantacy television. But, I’ll give you this much (They are way better than the Three Stooges).

Is Glenn Beck’s show shown on TV in heaven or hell? I heard someone speak who evaluates TV shows in just that way. I am not a churchgoer and don’t believe in the traditional notions of heaven and hell but certainly believe that some part of us has always and will always exists, but using the heaven/hell TV model as my guide, I imagine people in hell sitting around watching TV shows that blow smoke about conspiracy theories, are about right v wrong, wild, rabid speculation, proving one’s point and making the other person wrong, attack/defense, hate, gossip, name calling … yeah, Becks’ show is shown in hell.

Beck makes his points with facts and information and provides referrences for all to research. that is more than cynthia and the AJC can say. Their own Brockman wrote an aznti Fair Tax rticle and then admented he did noit even bother to read the Fair Tax book. Great research!

Most of the obama supporters want others to pay for their health care. 99% of the rich people who are forced to pay for the Obama Health Care are whites. Why should they be responsible for others health care specially for those who call White people racists, bigots etc ???? Obamamma wants to take care of Acorn and colorofchange.org brothers and sisters who put him in white house. Acorn crowds should pay for theri health care instead of forcing the whites to pay for their health care.

No, Beck’s not a lunatic at all – those ramblings about FEMA camps, dark conspiracies, totalitarianism, imminent govm’t takeover are lucid, sober social and political commentary. My goodness you have been scared into stupidity.

Alistair Cooke (the famed historian and observer of US) once observed in the 1970s America’s predilection for conspiracy theories – and today’s frothing, hysterical screeds (online, townhalls, talk shows) certainly prove his point.

Calm down folks – you’ve come unhinged. A former car dwelling disk jockey with a penchant for oddity (how bout those eye close ups, the frequent tearful outbursts, the yelling) is no one to be looking towards for anything other than entertainment (morbid or otherwise).

Noonan, et al in the GOP warned of a vulgarization of politics – and we now have it in spades with folks parroting talking points from clowns on TV and radio, driven to screaming inanities by their fear – fear stoked with half truths and out right lies by people like Beck. Shameful.

Last thought, w/ regrets for rambling… This Reagan Dem, who was firmly w/ McCain until the insanity of the campaign moved into high gear, will never venture back – you folks have gone nutty on me.

It’s great to live in a world where crazies like “Chris Matthews” of MSNBC can have a tv show and rant about how he’s getting orgasmic tingles up his leg watching President Obama speak. Actually I think his show should come with a warning so that parents can monitor their young children from listening to Chris Matthews and his screaming orgasms everytime he listens to the President. But isn’t it wonderful that America allows him to do it..even though it’s “crazy”???

Glenn Beck is admired by the extremists on the far-right — or, as one town-hall participant stated “I’m a right-wing terrorist!” — and we live amongst them everywhere in the south. Wow, when I look at comments on pages like this, I am disappointed by my countrymen. Beck and the rest at Fox are pushing the agenda of the far-right extremists who put profits before people, start wars for economic reasons (and don’t bother having plans to finish them, and believe outright that people are fools and should be lied to (they claim Walter Lippman as a “conservative” hero: read his 1922 Public Opinion for how they view Sheeple).

I’m not bothered by the people who want Obama and crew investigated. The scary part is that these same people let the same “news” organization tell them they have nothing to fear from Bush and crew. Wake up, folks! You should have been this angry and demanding of truth BEFORE the current administration…and I hope you remain this awake when Beck and Faux get a Republican back in the office, but I know you’ll let those propagandists tell you to go back to sleep ’cause they’ve got everything under control again.

One last, building on my prior post for my esteemed friends on the right. Afraid I’ve finished lunch at my desk and need to get back to work…

A hysterical, weeping, shouting buffoon alternatively whispering and shouting about conspiracies, cabals, hostile takeovers, and the end of the world, who actively and enthusiastically stokes your fears with innuendo, demagoguery and hyperbole while claiming to be the only one who “sees the real truth” is someone to view w/ great skepticism (or humor) – on either or any side of the political spectrum. History shows, s/he is either is most likely a charlatan, a fanatic, and/or a lunatic.

He is a hate and fear monger, and if he keeps going the way he is one of his crazy fans is going to do more than holster a gun at a public meeting. And as you can see from these comments, his fans can barely make a cohesive sentence. You want good ratings? Then preach to the lowest common denominator.

I’m not sure if everything Glenn Beck says has any truth to it or not. But I do find him and his arguments very compelling. We have seen our jobs and economy hijacked by Communist China over the last decade.

I do believe that China is pressuring the free world to be a more socialized system of government and that they want a “world currency” and a common world government. As it stands now we have a huge debt and trade imbalance with China. The only way to really fix all that is to stop globalization or make globalization fair for all citizens of the world through a common currency as to “spread the wealth”. Communist China has huge advantages to attracting multi-national companies to its shores because of no labor/environmental laws and manipulation of currency.

The Green Movement wants to further handcuff the free world by reducing pollution and forcing companies to abide by strict environmental rules…they do this to the west but not to the 3rd world or China. So this will further drive North America and the free world into the ground.

Something is up…Beck makes allusions to it but I think it has more to do with a Communist China’s view of how capitalism should accommodate China in their “new world order” rather than the opposite. And Communist China wants capitalism to absorb some socialism around the planet.

China is dependent on the free world to keep its country from spinning into chaos with unemployed citizens. Globalization is forcing America to become something “new” mainly because of Communist China. They need our jobs and need us to buy their products because they have not developed their own domestic economy and consumer base within China. Leadership in America is working with that in mind because Communist China is financing America. So not only are you buying ‘Made in China” you’re also in debt to it as well. Just remember everytime you go to Wal-Mart and buy “Made in China” and use a credit card then effectively you’re now in debt to pay back the debt to China. They got your jobs now they want your money too and you’re giving it to them.

Perhaps there will be a North American Union with Canada and Mexico and a new currency. Maybe that’s why the economy and dollar are crashing? Perhaps what is going on with Government getting into the driver’s seat is to manage the population so that when even more “big” changes to the system happen then they will be ready to cope with the potential explosion of anger and revolt towards it. The point is that if you dance with Communist China (population 1.5 billion) then expect to dance to “their” tune…and it ain’t “yankee-doodle-dandy”. They are the real problem that is making America into something ’strange’ to the norm or status-quo. Just think about it. Beck is onto something although he might be coming across as an extremist with his rants. If you don’t like the message ..you shoot the messenger. It’s a good thing nobody shot Paul Revere when he screamed for everyone to “wake up”.

Liberals like Tucker can’t win a debate based on substance or facts so they always resort to demonizing their opponents (Beck=crazy) (Town Hall Dissenters=mobs or Nazis).
