Man missing from personal care home found

A Mattie’s Call was canceled Thursday morning after a 54-year-old man missing from a personal care home in Monroe County was found.

Willie James Thomas had last been seen Sunday morning around 10:45 as he checked himself out of Whispering Pines Personal Care Home on U.S. 41 in Macon, authorities said. When he left the care facility, he was believed to be walking to church, but he never arrived.

Authorities reported Thursday that Thomas had been found.

Man, 64, missing after walking away from home

Eugene Bryant, 64, was last seen Thursday night after walking away from his home.

Eugene Bryant, 64, was last seen Thursday night after walking away from his home.

A statewide Mattie’s Call alert was issued Friday night for a missing Clayton County man.

Eugene Bryant, 64, walked away from his Bimini Drive home, near Jonesboro, around 9 p.m. Thursday, according to Officer Phong Nguyen with the Clayton County Police Department.

Bryant is 5-feet-11 inches tall, weighs approximately 150 pounds and has gray hair and brown eyes, according to police. He was last seen wearing a black skullcap, blue pants, brown shoes with no laces, a red plaid shirt and a red jacket, police said. He has a cane with a lion carving on the top.

Bryant takes medication for seizures, police said.

Anyone with information on Bryant’s whereabouts is asked to call police at 770-477-3648.

Mattie’s Call canceled for Atlanta man with schizophrenia

A Mattie's Call alert has been issued for Steven Roberts, 54, of Atlanta.

A Mattie’s Call was canceled Friday for a 54-year-old male diagnosed with schizophrenia who was reported missing by his family.

Police did not say where or when Steven Roberts of Atlanta was found.

He was last seen about 4 p.m. Tuesday leaving his residence at 2288 Springdale Road SW, according to an alert. He had “been off his medication for some time.”

Henry police seek public’s help in sexual assault investigation

The Henry County Police Department wants to know if a man already in custody and charged with two sexual assaults is responsible for any other assaults in the area.

And investigators need your help, police said Wednesday.

Police have identified the suspect as “Dee Pac” or “Dee Pacman,” according to a Henry police news release. During the past two weeks, he met women in the metro Atlanta area, drove them back to his home in Henry County and assaulted them, police said.

The suspect’s real name is being withheld for investigative and identification purposes, according to police.

He is described as a 5-foot-10, 200-pound man in his early 30s. The suspect lives in the McDonough area.

Police encourage any other victims to contact 911 or Henry County police.

Smoke prompts temporary evacuation of Stone Mountain High

Students at Stone Mountain High School were temporarily evacuated Tuesday while firefighters investigated smoke in the building.

Though the exact cause is still being investigated, officials believe a motor shorted-out in a dryer in the school, DeKalb County Schools spokesman Quinn Hudson told Channel 2 Action News.

Students were allowed back in the school just after 11 a.m.

Clayton County elementary school locked down after incident

An elementary school in Clayton County was locked down Monday afternoon after an incident nearby, authorities said.

Oliver Elementary School was on lockdown starting at 3:15 p.m. for about an hour and a half after a man with a rifle was spotted standing on his property near the school, Clayton County Schools spokeswoman Vicki Gavalas said.

The lockdown was lifted and parents were in the process of picking up their children late Monday afternoon.

Mattie’s Call canceled for man reported missing from Grady hospital

Atlanta police on Sunday canceled a Mattie’s Call for a 73-year-old man reported missing last week from Grady Memorial Hospital.

Freddie Teasley, who police said has mild dementia, had last been seen at Grady last Sunday.

Police said early Sunday that he had been found.

Missing Atlanta man, 50, found

A Mattie’s Call was canceled Thursday for a man who had been missing since March 19.

Authorities said 50-year-old Mitchell Fincannon of Atlanta man has been found.

He had last been seen in a car on Decatur Street. An alert was issued two days later.

Mattie’s Call canceled for woman with Alzheimer’s

Upon my arrival I spoke with the complainant, Jerry Connell, who advised his
wife, Peggy Eady Connell, left the residence on this day at 18:00 hrs and was
going to the Wal-Mart in Monroe to get her prescription filled and also stop
by the Pizza Hut in Monroe. Mr Connell stated his wife suffers from Alzheimer
disease and when she didn’t come home he began to call and check on her.
The first phone call was made at 19:00 hrs and he spoke with his wife who
advised she was in traffic and coming home. It was two hours later at 21:00 hrs
that Mr Connell made contact with is wife for the second time. This time his
wife advised she was in Loganville on a back road. Mr Connell asked if he could
come get her and she told him no she would find her way home. Another two hrs
had passed and Mr Connell called his wife for the third time. This call was
made at 23:00 hrs and Mrs Connell said she was in Between heading home. When
she did not come home, Mr Connell called 911.

2 toy guns prompt school lockdown

Two students with two toy guns prompted a temporary lockdown Friday afternoon at a Clayton County elementary school.

The toys were found at Pointe South Elementary, on Thomas Road in Riverdale, according to school leaders. The students, whose names were not released, were being questioned.
