Atlanta police seek man in connection with bank robbery

bank robber suspectAtlanta police are looking for a man who allegedly robbed a Wells Fargo Bank in the 2200 block of Cascade Road on Monday morning.

The man is described as between 5-foot-8 and 5-9, and 140 to 170 pounds.

Police said the man handed the teller a note that read, “Don’t make me hurt you,” and demanded she give him money only in $100 bills. The teller initially only gave the man $5 and $10 bills, after which he allegedly held a knife to the neck of a second bank employee, authorities said. The teller gave the man what he wanted and he fled on foot, police said. Neither bank employee was wounded during the ordeal.

Tipsters can be anonymous and are eligible for up to $2,000 in reward money if information they give leads to the arrest and indictment of a suspect.
