The Gwinnett County Police Department is searching for a suspect involved in a Jan. 30 armed robbery at a Walmart at 4975 Jimmy Carter Blvd., county police said Friday.

At 11:40 p.m. on the night of the robbery, the suspect was paying for a pellet gun, according to a police department press release. The cashier opened the register at which time the suspect revealed a knife and lunged toward the machine.

The cashier ran and escaped injury, the press release says, while the suspect removed “a large sum” of money and fled on foot.

The Walmart where the robbery took place is located in an area of unincorporated Norcross.

According to police, the suspect is described as a black male, 180 to 220 pounds and between 30 and 40 years old. He wore a brown jacket with a fur hood as well as a blue beanie hat, blue jeans, tan boots. He possibly had a beard.
