Burglars broke into a southeast Atlanta convenience store early Wednesday and made off with more than $10,000 in cash, lottery tickets and tobacco products, police said.
The owner of the Citgo gas station and convenience store in the 1300 block of Boulevard reported the burglary just after 6 a.m., telling officers that when he entered the store, “he immediately saw several items scattered about the floor,” Atlanta police spokeswoman Kim Jones said.
“Upon entering his office, he found a hole in the wall where several bricks had been removed for the suspects to gain entry,” Jones said in an e-mail.
The store owner reported that $4,000 worth of cigars and cigarettes were missing, along with $6,000 worth of lottery tickets and $1,000 in cash.
Jones said security cameras showed three males dressed in dark clothing walking around inside the store just after 3:30 a.m.
