Police in Cobb County and Roswell issued strikingly similar descriptions of a man suspected in a number of armed robberies.
Cobb authorities are looking for a man who is suspected of robbing a Shell convenience store early Wednesday morning. The store in the 2600 block of Windy Hill Road was robbed gunpoint about 1 a.m., police said. The suspect, described as a 150 pound, 5-foot-10 man with short hair between the ages of 25-33, was last seen wearing a black jacket with a red “Air Jordan” logo on the upper left chest. He also had on a black baseball cap that bore the logo of the Boston Red Sox or Detroit Tigers, Cobb police said.
Roswell police provided a similar description of a suspect in the armed robbery of a CVS drugstore in the 1300 block of Woodstock Road on Sunday. Authorities there said a man pointed a gun at the cashier and demanded money and cigarettes. The suspect is described as man between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-9, with short brown hair. He was wearing a black jacket with a red “Air Jordan” logo on the upper left chest, a black baseball ball cap with a white logo on the front and jeans.
In the Cobb incident, the suspect reportedly brought items to the counter to purchase, but produced a handgun when the cashier opened the cash register. The man demanded money and after receiving it, fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash and the items he brought to the counter, Cobb police said.
He got into a black vehicle, possibly a Toyota, with a spoiler and was last seen headed towards Interstate 75, police said.
