Cobb police seek suspect in Austell Dollar General armed robbery

Cobb police officers are looking for the man who shot into the front counter of an Austell Dollar General when employees had trouble opening the cash register.

Just before 9 p.m. Sunday, a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt, an American flag bandanna, light-colored blue jeans, and red, white and black sneakers entered the Dollar General at 710 Six Flags Dr. with a handgun, Cobb police spokesman Sgt. Dana Pierce said Monday.

According to investigators, the man, who is between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10, demanded money from store employees. When they could not open the cash register, the man fired two shots toward the front counter, Pierce said.

No one was injured in the shooting, he said.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call 770-499-3945.
