Six Walmart employees who allegedly got away with more than $6,000 worth of merchandise have been arrested.
The investigation into the alleged internal theft ring began Dec. 23, when security officials at the Walmart at 3105 Cobb Pkwy. contacted the Acworth Police Department about discrepancies in transactions involving the six employees, police spokesman Capt. Mark Cheatham said.
The investigation revealed that the employees allegedly voided transactions at the register and allowed co-workers to exit the store without paying for the merchandise, he said.
Beauford J. Goodrum, 21, of Kennesaw; Lamaris Denise Fields, 19, of Acworth; Shawn Allen Harris, 22, of Dallas; Jamecah Ania Ray, 19, of Acworth; Barbara Weston, 56, of Decatur; and Yashica Rene Campbell, 43, of Kennesaw, each face a misdemeanor charge of theft by deception.
