Three masked men rob Atlanta jewelry store

Three armed men entered the Elif Fine Jewelry Store in Atlanta Nov. 7, and stole men’s and women’s jewelry, an Atlanta police spokeswoman said Thursday.

The suspects, who wore dark masks and gloves, forced two store employees behind the counter at gunpoint, broke the jewelry with a hammer and stole the jewelry, Elizabeth Espy said in a news release. They fled the scene in a dark grey GMC SUV, she said.

Spalding, Griffin officials investigate fraud cases

Police are looking for this suspect in connection with multiple debit card fraud cases.

Police are looking for this suspect in connection with multiple cases of debit card fraud.

The Spalding County Sheriff’s Office and the Griffin Police Department need your help finding the suspects wanted in connection with numerous cases of debit card fraud.

The cards, which belonged to customers of First National Bank of Griffin, have been used at an East Point CVS Pharmacy as well as a Target, according to officials.

Authorities Thursday released photos of the suspects leaving both locations.

A 31-year-old Henry County man who was reported missing returned home safe Wednesday night, police said.

Deandrew Deshaun Fisher had last been seen around midnight Sunday on Overbrook Place in Stockbridge, authorities said.

Suspect in Austell post office robbery sought

The Austell Police Department is looking for this suspect in connection with a robbery and assault on Wednesday.

The Austell Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect in Wednesday’s robbery at the Veterans Memorial Highway post office.

A man was counting money inside the building about 1 p.m. Wednesday when a male in his late teens to early 20s robbed him and ran outside, Austell police said

The man, who has not been identified, chased the suspect to the parking lot, police said.

The suspect entered a grey 4-door vehicle. The two fought through the driver-side window when the vehicle hit another car and injured the man in the process, police said.

He was taken to Atlanta Medical Center where his condition is unknown.

Austell police and United States Postal Service inspectors continue to investigate the incident.

Clues to identity of "John Doe 27"

The FBI said Thursday that it has received “some excellent leads” after asking the public for help to identify a man they are calling “John Doe 27″ in a child sex abuse case.

Images of the man were found on the Internet, and he may be involved with child exploitation and sexual abuse of a minor, officials said Tuesday.

The unknown individual is described as a white male thought to be between 40 and 50 years old, with brown hair, graying sideburns and a bald spot. He wears glasses and a ring on the ring finger of his right hand. On a video, he refers to himself and “Jimmy” and speaks with a Southern accent, authorities said.

Federal officials also released a photo of a plaid chair inside of a residence that they hope someone will recognize.

A missing Henry County man was found safe Tuesday night, police said.

Mark Armbrust, 48, had last been seen around 8 a.m. Monday in a black SUV taxi leaving his home in McDonough.

He was located in good health on Tuesday, authorities said.

Police investigate robbery at CVS on Mableton Parkway

Police are investigating an armed robbery at a drug store near Mableton.

Around 8:40 p.m. Sunday, police said a man entered the CVS Pharmacy at 5846 Mableton Parkway and pulled a black semi-automatic handgun on the clerk, police said.

The armed man demanded money from the cash registers and safe, and fled the business with an unspecified amount of cash to a vehicle waiting outside, police said.

Investigators described the suspect as around 5-foot-9,  wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with red trim and dark jeans.

Henry police say wheel thief targeting Chevy, GMC trucks and SUVs

Henry County police are investigating the thefts of wheels and tires from numerous pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles in the Ola area of the county.
According to police, eight thefts of wheels and tires have been reported since February in the area around Airline and McGarity roads.
The suspect, described as a heavyset white man with short, dark, curly hair driving a primer-gray older-model Dodge Ram “dually” pickup truck.
Police said the suspect targets 2007 and newer Chevrolet and GMC pickup trucks and SUVs with 20-inch factory installed wheels.

Police: Cobb father punched, choked mother in front of baby

An Austell man is in jail on accusations he beat and choked his live-in girlfriend and the mother of his child, police said.

Mario Pacheco-Pedro, 30, was arrested Monday night after Cobb County Police say he punched his girlfriend and choked her in front of their 1-year-old daughter.

Pacheco-Pedro also punched a man at the apartment in the 600 block of Whisper Trail, according to an arrest warrant obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

He was charged with battery-family violence, third-degree child cruelty and battery, and is being detained at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center on $4,070 bond and an immigration hold.

Police in Rockdale County need the public’s help to identify two people accused in a smash-and-grab early Thursday at a beauty supply store.

Shortly before 6 a.m., two suspects arrived at Sunny’s Beauty Supply in Conyers Square in a late-model Chrysler van, according to police. A male suspect allegedly smashed the glass of the store’s door, allowing both suspects to enter the store.

The two suspects allegedly helped themselves to hair extensions and other merchandise inside the store before leaving in the same van they arrived in, police said. The two were seen at another nearby Sunny’s store about 15 minutes later.
