Suspect arrested for 2 armed robberies

For four days, Cobb County police investigated the armed robbery of a Marietta liquor store. Wednesday, they found their suspect, who is now also accused of robbing a Subway restaurant.

Matthew Bruce Jones, 28, of Marietta is being held without bond at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center charged with two counts of armed robbery, police said Thursday.

Jones was taken into custody without incident in east Cobb for allegedly robbing the B & G Liquor Store at 4400 Roswell Road. An armed man entered the store Saturday night, opened the cash registers and fled on foot with the cash drawers, authorities said.

Tuesday night, an armed man robbed the Subway at 4101 Roswell Road in Marietta.

Police believe Jones is responsible for both crimes.

Anyone with information about either robbery should call Cobb police at 770-499-3945.
