No surprise: Saban, other coaches love their signees

We all heard it Wednesday.

Coach after coach after coach praising their new players.

They were thrilled.

They were excited.

They were happy and pleased and bragged about the latest group of signees.

The folks at Football Scoop assembled a list of quality quotes uttered by football coaches around the land on Wednesday.

Here are some examples:

“I’m in a good mood because we’ve signed good football players.” — Duke’s David Cutcliffe

“We have a lot of guys in this group that everybody wants. We haven’t been in that business to the extent we were this year.” — Miami’s Al Golden

“We’re very pleased with the character and quality of people that we’re able to attract here.” — Alabama’s Nick Saban

I wonder how these anyone of these coaches will feel the first time one of their “great young men” find themselves in trouble.

Texas loses, LSU gets Teuhema package deal

Sione and Maea Teuhema are brothers who originally committed to Texas.

Now, they both say they’re going to LSU.

Actually, only Sione, a three-star DE out of Keller, Texas, actually signed today. His brother Maea is a five-star OT who will be a 2015 signee.

They were committed to Texas — Sione was a Longhorns commit for eight months — until Tuesday, but both changed their mind.

ESPN.com reported:

According to the source, academic support was the biggest reason why the Teuhemas decided they won’t end up at Texas. LSU coaches impressed the Teuhema family this weekend by stressing academics throughout their visit, and by the end of the weekend the family was ready for a change of plans.

Then, Sione signed to play for Les Miles earlier today and Maea, who is 6-5, 348 pounds, committed to LSU.
