Manziel, not Murray or McCarron, is first-team All-SEC

Let the debate continue.

Johnny Manziel was selected first-team All-SEC by the AP, released today, ahead of Georgia’s Aaron Murray and Alabama’s AJ McCarron.

Murray was a second-team selection, along with running back Todd Gurley.

Manziel, Murray and McCarron have been been the topic of debate among fans and media throughout this season.

Their numbers

Manziel: 270-of-391 for 3,732 yards, 33 TDs, 13 INTs; 686 rush yards, 8 TDs

Murray: 225-of-347 for 3,075, 26 TDs, 9 INTs in 11 games; 7 TDs rushing

McCarron: 207-of-306 for 2,676 yards, 26 TDs, 5 INTs

Auburn’s Tre Mason is the offensive player of the year and coach Gus Malzahn is the top coach.

South Carolina DE Jadevon Clowney also was selected to the first team. He has three sacks.
