Muschamp’s days must be numbered

About 10 days ago, Florida AD Jeremy Foley said he was 1,000 percent behind coach Will Muschamp.

I wonder what the percentage is now.

The Gators (4-7) have lost twice since then, an expected loss to South Carolina, and one that leans toward the ridiculous.

Georgia Southern, a team in flux because its moving from the Southern Conference to the Sun Belt at the end of the season, shocked Florida 26-20 on Saturday, but is still the first FCS school to ever defeat Florida.

Muschamp can’t feel so secure right now.

The Gators have lost six straight games. They won’t be going to a bowl for the first time since 1990. At 4-7, this will be their first losing season since 1979.

And if you think Florida fans were hopping mad after losing to Louisville in the Sugar Bowl in January, check them out on Twitter today. They’re so full of venom I can’t put them on here.

I’m all for giving coaches a chance, especially with the injuries that Florida has seen this season, but when you’re Florida, you have to beat programs like Georgia Southern. There’s no reason not to do it.

Foley almost has to give up on Muschamp.

He can’t risk falling farther behind Florida State.

Miami is showing signs of life.

Central Florida is now the best team in the middle of the state.

I expect Muschamp to finish the season and then be fired after next week’s inevitable loss to Florida State.

He’ll make someone an excellent defensive coordinator next fall.

Gone Gator…..

Muchanmp has nothing to fear personally from GatorNation. We do not have any fanatical tree killers.

Foley and Muschamp better have some strong security around Gainesville. I don’t wish ill will on anybody, but I would not want to be in their shoes in that town right now. Foley and Muschamp are basically flipping off the fans and saying screw you.

Foley is NOT going to fire Muschamp this year. He just signed him to a 4-year extension based on last year’s performance. Not sure why that was done based on last year’s performance (vs, Georgia and the Sugar Bowl….both disasters performance wise). But it was. And if Foley was to fire him now, Foley would have to admit his failure in hiring head coaches (Zook and Muschamp), The president of UF hired Meyer (both came from Utah). He is not going to do that. But if he does not fire him, and Florida has another disaster of a year in 2014…..Foley could end up buying his way out of Gainesville as well. I would imagine, and it better happen, that Muschamp will bring in an entirely new offensive coaching staff….with maybe the exception of Joker Phillips. But in particular, the offensive coordinator, TE coach, offensive line coach. Brian White is the RB coach and he could go or stay…..not sure which should happen with him. But I would not be surprised if h took a HC job at a smaller school. If Muschamp announces that he is keeping his offensive coaching staff at the end of the year, the roar from all over Florida might cause an earthquake in Georgia.

If the Dawgs are smart, they will do whatever is needed to offer Muschamp the DHC job the minute Foley steps out of his office with Muschamp’s pink slip. Please don’t let this opportunity pass us by.

@Thomas Brown- get over it man Georiga sucks and clemson proved that even when fully healthy and several months to prepare GA couldn’t beat anyone. The same clemson team that got waxed by FSU. Get over yourself buddy and act like all the other GA fans by calling up your local sports radio stations and crying to them about what is your team gonna do now and how you want mark richt fired…..cry baby!

Please….. Georgia Southern is a very good team, Yes they have had their share of hurt players like UF. They are just really hard to stop. Alabama, as everybody knows, was number #1 when GSU played them to the last down two years ago.

Really? Losing 45-21 is “playing them to the last down”? They were only five yards and a tipped pass away from beating Bama, weren’t they? ;-)

And Kirby Smart is to Nick Saban what Will Muschamp was to Saban. Just his beard. Will Muschamp was just as good of a DC as Kirby Smart as long as he was holding the coat tail of Nick Saban.
