Oregon students Grant Otter and Harrison Tingler are trying to make some greenbacks from selling green T-shirts with the slogan: “We Want Bama.”

Otter stopped by this blog Monday afternoon and left the “We Want Bama” URL in the comments, in case any of my readers want to buy their own T-shirt.

The chant initially was heard as the second-ranked Ducks put the finishing touches on their rout of Tennessee last month, so Otter and Tingler  printed green T-shirts with it on the front, hopeful of a showdown with No. 1 Alabama for the national title.

They began selling the $10 shirts to friends and other folks through word-of-mouth, but have since set up a table on campus. They sold out of the first 200 and have ordered 400 more, according to the Daily Emerald, a student news organization.

Otter told the Emerald:

“I was wearing the shirt on campus walking down 13th. I don’t know who it was but a big football player walking sees my shirt and goes, ‘Damn straight.’ … People are saying we are going to jinx the team, but as long as we have the football players’ support on our side I think we are doing alright. We just need the Ducks and Alabama to keep winning.”

Alabama and Oregon are both 6-0 with ranked teams remaining on their schedule.

The Crimson Tide plays No. 6 LSU on Nov. 9, No. 24 Auburn on Nov. 30. The Ducks still must play No. 9 UCLA and No. 13 Stanford.

Alabama has won two straight national titles and three of the past four. The SEC has won seven consecutive national titles.

Oregon Ducks are lucky they are not under Probation for the Paying for recruits……even Kelly expected them to get hammered, he headed off to Philly and got a show cause in the process….that NIKE Money is spread very well through the NCAA.
