Shouldn’t the remarks about Terry Baskin be removed, since an editor called him back about the comments and Terry explained to him what was actually said, not what was reported. Their is no logical explanation for the alleged quote, and I know Terry enought to know he would have not have said anything that was obviously illogical. Tax collections percentages do not have anything to do with the CCBOC being over budget or not having a handle on budget issues.

Good For You,Kimberly Allen; I have been here since 1961, and I still regret the day that I picked Clayton County has my home.

If you think Clayton’s that bad, why have you stayed since ‘61? I’ve been here since 1970, and For. Pk. was a nice place to raise my children. We had no fears for their safety then. My youngest graduated in ‘92, just before the county began going down the tubes. I moved to Morrow 15 years ago. The city government and police officers make sure that it’s well kept up and safe for us. Meanwhile, FP looks a mess. What a shame that it’s been allowed to go down so. I hope the county will eventually come back to what it once was.

I am glad the school system got its accreditation back. I am glad they are keeping the structures at the schools in great shape. Many are new school. What I can’t understand is how drug dealers can work on the steps of an elementary school in Rex at 1:45 on a school day. Could you explain this Dr. Heatly? The kids that are trying to learn need to be safe from these criminals. Thanks.

My grandfather use to say that “freedom should be measured” he never really explained himself. He would often say that when black folks were acting out. Yes he was black and so am ‘I. we cannot always expect someone else to clean our mess. I live in the tip end of Clayton (Hampton) in a new subdivision predominantly black. We’ve been in our townhome for three years and it’s a constant battle to keep our side clean. The management company tries hard but to no avail. Kids are always playing in the streets night and day although LoveJoy Park is adjacent to the subdivision not to mention they should be home doing homework. It’s hard to have people follow order and to make matters worse the builder is now renting the left over inventory to anyone with cash or a section8 voucher. Garbage cans are kept in the front of the unit not on the back patio as required in the bylaws still the streets are littered with trash now even the park is littered and it’s hard for the park crew to keep up. My wife and I have always been financial responsible this was our starter home the plan was to sell in a few years and move up but now I can’t even break even with the bank, simply because this place is a dump created by the same people who call this place home. Home breakings are a regular activity so is loud obnoxious music at all hours of the night people drive down the street at three hundred miles like it was the speedway – now you can even hear gun shot in the park at night by the lake – I was never a gun person but my wife and I both decided to get a GFL and to purchase handguns because you just don’t know what you will walk into when you get home – were are afraid to leave our kids home alone although they are teenagers (I don’t even need to go into the school mess) the evil outnumber the good in this place – a lot of the good left and are renting which ads to what they tried to fight – now I fully understand what my granddaddy meant by “FREEDOM SHOULD BE MEASURED” Because now all some choose to do with that freedom is nothing with their lives and turned their neighborhoods into a dump – seat in front of the house chilling because they have a lot of free time – every young girl in that place is pregnant and it looks like a cult – the cops don’t even bother to come when you call them anymore and a lot of times they claim it’s a management problem – looks like we are going to lose on this one – a friend of mine (blk) once told me to never buy a home next to another black man because you will never be able to cash in on your investment – I only have all the free Negros of this part of Hampton in Clayton County to thank for this dump – please stay away from SHOUTHFILELD STATION because I can’t wait to get out.

double action: I didn’t abandon FP. my former husband left us after 30 years, there are no condos in FP and as I got older, I decided to simplify my life (yard work, etc.etc!) My brother was based in FP since 1948, so I spent alot of pleasant time there. It is still near and dear, so I hate what’s happened. I also don’t understand people that move into areas, then don’t keep things up to par!

Riverdale is not the great city people say it is.The mayor and city council need to get back to some basic and simple things. we need a animal dog control officer.now the police does the work.the police need to do their jobs as a policeman is trained to do. now get a animal officer to take care of the animals.
Pitbulls -dangerous dogs are getting to be a problem. same pitbull bit our dog while my husband was walking her ,also same dog atack another dog.a mother and daughter walking their dog our big park was closed.now the kids have no park to play in.no place to really walk our pets. we do have kiddie parks. we need another code enforcer, lots of work for him to do.So remember when you are in riverdale and see the new town center, its on our closed park.

Our mayor says she wants a buckhead of the south, building greatness daily.I guess that may be the reason Riverdale has the town center .. .I want to know why a business would want to come here.. our kids have no park to play baseball or football. .Every since our big park was taken.two or three years ago,at the council meetings the mayor says we are still going to get the park .set a date mayor Dixon and city councilmembers!!!!!!!if not let the citizens know. we need a animal dog control officer. Why don’t we have one? another code inforcer.
city hall took away our public works department.go down roundtree road from 85. see what our city looks like. grass needs cutting.sidewalks need taking care of.
please ,seems like Forest Park is giving people basic simple things like green space, lots of parks for the citizens to enjoy.a animal dog control officer. be proud.!! Riverdale does not have these basic simple things .
I have been down Wilson Road to see where the park is going to be one day.check it out. one big rock hole.
Again I can’t understand why business people want to come here.

Linda Ingram ; (( ” Mayor .people at city hall need to raise millions of dollars through bond sales for a park . what happen to the 20 million that was borrowed years ago that was to build the park? ” ))

Linda; It would a total waste of money to build a park in Riverdale, because it would only create is another outdoor shooting range in this county for the thug eliminates.
