Clayton helps put chokehold on drug ring

Forty-five people connected to a Mexican drug cartel were arrested and its Clayton county based cell shut down thanks to federal and local law enforcement which included our District Attorney, Tracy Graham Lawson.

Operation Choke Hold originated in Gwinnett county back in May 2009 and as the drug cartel La Familia Michoacana spread they began operating out of Spalding, Henry, Cobb, and Clayton counties, along with several other states.

According to the AJC, Operation Choke Hold involved the Clayton and Griffin district attorney’s offices, the federal Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Atlanta High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force. More than $2.3 million in cash and 20 firearms were seized, along with drugs that had a street value of more than $10 million which included 46 pounds of methamphetamine, 43 kilos of cocaine, and 4,120 pounds of marijuana.

Obviously this one bust will not completely eliminate drug rings in the Metro Atlanta area, and all of the crime connected to them. But this was a major bust not only for Clayton, but also for all of the other metro Atlanta counties where this particular cartel operated.  So, congratulations to our District Attorney and to all of the law enforcement officials involved, and thank you for making us a bit safer.

Can’t imagine this happening under the prior Clayton County DA. Elections can make a difference when qualified people step up to serve and when the voters do their research and choose the better candidate. Clayton County’s DA and Solicitor are doing a great job.

…..Choke Hold ?

….We desperately need our immigration laws to be enforced, to where these criminals are not allowed to run free to do their business in the first place.
….No; Congratulations to the informants, that lead the law enforcement agencies to the apprehension to these suspects.
…….The job of Our District Attorney has just started. These guys alos faces federal firearm violations.

Congrats to all the law enfocement agencies who participated in this operation. Federal, State and local. All should be commended. Job well done.

Now if we can get the #1 bedwetter in Wash. DC to do his job – we could do something concrete (pun intented) about this tsunami of illegals and drugs flowing across our borders.

…This Drug Bust is only one straw in the Haystack.
….”The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)was established on 1 July 1973″, but yet, This Federal Agency, or Our Local Law Enforcement Agencies, has done very little to slow down the growth and addiction to illegal Drugs in Our Nation.
……In some Nations, in the Far East, Drug Trafficking is a Capital punishment.
….In this Nation, The Drug Traffickers are allowed to continue conducting their operations behind prison walls.
…..Our Nation is too soft on Drug Traffickers and because of this, our problem will continue to get a lot worse.

Congrads to all. Why Do we call it the Mexican drug cartel. We are on American soil. This is our problem. It is so easy to blame some one else. An operation this size has to have help from an American. $2.3 million American dollars, 20 firearms I bet this wasn’t smuggled in . We need to find out who is funding the American Drug Cartel, who’s the distribitors and who are the buyers.

Great job in busting up this ring, this time. There are however so much more drug activity in our midst that thrives on smaller scales. In this case it was the drug cartel out of Mexico. Some people under-estimate the influence other countries can have on activities in America. Nothing is exclusive to us anymore so we should stand up and recognize that. Again, to all agencies involved in bringing down this ring, good job – and hopefully more busts are in order.

Congratulations to our District Attorney, Tracy Graham Lawson for the drug cartel prosecution. However, she’ll be voted out next election for the bungled, failed substandard, messed up, slipshod handling of the Troy Dell West case. It’s like an 800lbs gorilla hanging around her neck!

The tsunami of illegals and drugs flowing across our borders has been happening in this country for well over 30 years and five presidents. Now, all of a sudden its this president’s fault and we want this president to drop everything and fix it. Its one word to describe those people around here!

Jewel Scott let a murdering teen go free – because she was not smart enough to know the rules. She also pushed a older employees to suicide by threatening his pension retirement. Wosrt of all –
When she asked the DA she defeated – “Where are the instruction manuals for this job?” – he pointed to the law books in the room and said – “there they are.”

What a moron.- proves she can not make a mov without Lee’s input.

….The Bravery and Courage displayed by our Law Enforcement Officers, of The Sheriff’s Department and Our Clayton County Police Department, is unequaled and second to none in our State. Right Brain,
So I guess you’re going to revive the past and vote in somebody with no experience to let murderers go free on technicalities again. You shouldn’t be so simplistic with your vote. Our DA is doing a great job with what she has to work with. She’s the legal expert, yet everybody with an opinion and no law degree want to play Matlock and tell her what to do. I’d vote for her 100 times if I could.

You can said what you want about the “goodness of the current DA” and all you bloggers may vote for her, that will amount to about five. Meanwhile, the other 157,000 voters will vote for “Buck Wheat” before they vote for Tracy Lawson again! Bank on it! That’s why Thurbert Baker **left his job** because of Gernolow Wilson= Troy Dell West! At least 90% of that 157,000 registered “WON’T FORGET” Troy Dell West, remeber their hero Mike Vick served more time than Troy Dell West; 20 months will tell!

@ alcotlaing@yahoo.com, to bad you’re the only one still drinking the magnate’s kool-aid; fabricated reason for Clayton losing accreditation! All one have to do is look at Dekalb and Atlanta and now Gwinnett BOE’s to see that what Clayton’s old BOE did was “So Minor” compared to the actions of those BOE’s, “Millions of dollars are involved”! However, those school systems “WILL” keep their accreditation—(and I bet ya)! The State school reform law was not even law then, uups! Moreover, the majority of the voters “get’s it” that’s why they voted out those really responsible for destroying the county! Besides that, alcotlaing@yahoo.com, how such money did you spent making Sandra Scott’s name a household name thus helping her get re-elected?

Ask yourself this. What have YOU done for this county, and that does not include “running for office”. If YOU have done nothing, YOU ARE THE PROBLEM, that is keeping this county from recovering! What do I mean by doing for the county? Attend board meetings, attend school board meetings, clean up trash in the neighborhood, vote colorblind, and demand those elected do there job in an ethical manner, attend, or hold neighborhood meetings, discipline your children(for those who don’t know, discipline does not mean spank), teach them respect of others property, support the businesses we want to keep here(all you can eat is great, but how about support the others also?), and I am sure there others not listed already. I personally cannot do them all but I do seven of the above on a regular basis. How about you complainers, and race baiter”s?

The only reason Tracy got elected is because black voters saw Tosha Mosley face on the mailout and thought Tracy was black. Now that they know she is white, she can buy all of the tables at the next NAACP dinner and they can give her an award for saving the most black males from serving time for simple possesion of weed and she still won’t win. It is sad but true. She can go back to an appointed position in juvenile court and do fine.
