Ghost of sheriff past

Victor Hill may have been voted out as sheriff in 2008, but his actions still affect our county, unfortunately.

Recently, Anthony J. McMichael, senior pastor of Jonesboro’s Mt. Nebo Baptist Church was charged with impersonating an officer by flashing a badge allegedly provided to him by Hill, in order to beat a Douglas county speeding ticket. This is the same badge McMichael denied having when the Clayton County Sheriff’s Department asked him to return it earlier this year, according to the present sheriff.

Incredulously, McMichael stated via ajc.com that, “It was the vindictive spirit of Clayton County to go after any association with Victor Hill.” Perhaps McMichael should have been more careful who he associated with given Hill’s track record during his lone term as sheriff.

Current sheriff’s employee badges have been replaced (thanks to Sheriff Kem Kimbrough) so that Clayton residents don’t have to wonder or worry about who they’re dealing with if ever approached by law enforcement. The badges distributed by Hill to his friends have six points. Legitimate sheriff’s badges now have seven points and a badge number, as pictured on the CCSD Web site.

“The public has a right to know who is a law enforcement officer or not, and to trust that when presented a badge, they are really dealing with a law enforcement officer,” says Kimbrough. “That’s why it is a crime to present a badge without authority to do so, and we will uphold and enforce that law – whether they are our badges or another agencies.”

Well, if you still have a Victor Hill issued badge … save it for Halloween 2010 and dress up as a former sheriff’s deputy.  Although you probably won’t get away with using it then, either.

McMichael could be fined up to $1,000 along with a one- to five- year prison stint, a department spokesman said.  Your thoughts? Will Clayton ever be done with Hill?

What kind of preacher lies like that? About having the badge and then using the badge in a effort to get out of a ticket? How does he still have a job?

One cannot blame the lying preacher’s antics on Victor Hill. Mt. Nebo baptist church should investigate this preachers credentials. Perhaps Anthony J. McMichael is also guilty of impersonating clergy. You think?

Victor Hill lost to Kem KIMBROUGH less than 2%; That means there are still a lot Victor Hill supporters out there.

I don’t blame Victor for this guy for being dumb enough to use the badge waaaay after the expiration date but I do blame Victor for giving out badges to civilians in the first place this could have been way more disastrous than it was, one of those “friends” could have went to far on a power trip bring the county yet another Victor Hill related lawsuit. I’ll bet some of those in that 48% are still holding onto badges. No, we won’t be rid of Lil Vic anytime soon because we’ll be paying his legal bills for a good long time.

Hills lawsuits will cost Clayco for many years to come. Ditto all of the sexual harrassment lawsuits, settled and those swept under the rug (paid) by the County against elected & appointed officials. The green eyed devil ain’t the only sexual preditor stalking the guillable and dissolute….but at least he is not married.

Unfortunately, Clayton County will never be shed of Victor Hill and his idiot decisions. His picture will still be there on the wall of past Sheriff’s of Clayton County and the stupid things he did as “sheriff” will continue to cost the taxpaying citizens of Clayton County for many years to come. As a PROFESSIONAL law enforcement officer for over 35 years, I am ashamed that the piece of garbage Hill ever held the title of “law enforcement officer”. Somebody along the line screwed the pooch when they swore him in when he went to work for Clayton County, and the voters who elected him to “sheriff” because of the pigment of his skin deserve ALL the blame for that disaster to Clayton County. The rest of us…well, we’re paying the price (literally) for his total imcompetence (along with the fools he brought with him).

Victor will remain a part of this towns history forever. I hope he will remain in our memories for that long so that when we go to the voting booths we see the candidates for who they are and not the color of their skin. Indeed in the 2000 election there were many who pulled the lever for Victor for no other reason than he was black. His qualifications didn’t matter nor did the qualifications of the DA, Magistrate Judge, or Solicitor but it appears that we corrected all but one of those in the last election.
I knew Victor before he became Sheriff and he was not the same after he became Sheriff. It was as if he became drunk on the power he assumed he had. He made decisions based on the recommendations of people like Lee Scott who apparently helped him pick a person who was just six months past the State Bar exam to be his legal counsel… hence all the legal trouble. I believe that at least one more of the 2000 crew must also be sent to the AA of the unelected.
If you have had the pleasure of visiting the magistrate judge of Clayton County you know who I mean. Arrogance, beyond arrogance. No one sees the depth of her arrogance because it usually happens in her chambers or in her court when there are no cameras present but someday the light will shine brightly on the abuse she heaps upon the people she “serves,”

C’mon folks,

Victor Hill was a disaster as a sheriff, but he was voted out. If there are still remnants of his poor leadership popping up, let Sheriff Kimbrough do his job and work them out. But to harp over the past is not productive. As for Rev. Anthony J. McMichael, he is just one example of those who believe in Jesus’s teachings, except when it’s not convenient.

A matter of Fact, considering the choices that urban hillbillies made in the past, that’s good that only 8% percent showed up.

Why hasn’t Heatley responded to an Open Records request as to how much money CCPS has paid Glen Brock and his law firm? Is Heatley trying to hide something? Don’t CCPS and Heatley by state law have to respond to Open Records requests about budget items? Where’s give-em-the-boot; they are always coming up with the scoop that the Clayton News Daily won’t report, where is the scoop on this?

1) The church has become exploited for financial gain and folks like McMichael could be leading the congregation he is supposedly serving to spiritual and financial slaughter.

2) As far as Victor Hill goes this is just another case of a short black guy with a napoleon complex that was given power and abused it. My brother worked in an establishment in Clayton County during Hill’s reign of terror and my brother would often tell me about Hill’s display of arrogance during his visits to this establishment.

3) The case of the Judge that you all are talking about, this is just another case of the ignorant, alley, and arrogant negro who is sitting on the bench. These uppity/arrogant negros think that they are doing something but they don’t amount to a hill of beans.

It is time for Clayton County to gather up some strength and elect some REAL LEADERSHIP. I have seen it first hand how blacks use the race card and underpriviledged tune to get into positions of leadership then “give the hook up” to their other incompetent black friends to get a piece of the power hungry/money hungry pie. Don’t get me wrong, you have some successful blacks who haved worked very hard to get where they are but the ones that I have seen were merely given hand outs and ruin a whole system. When things are failing, these same “qualified” black people want to use excuses such as “I inherited this mess” or “the previous administration/person in this position screwed things up very badly”. Give me a break! I am sick and tired of these lazy, incompetent, unprofessional, materialistic, cliquesh black folks. It goes beyond Clayton County, just look around and you will see it all over Atlanta. These “so-called” professionals riding around in their BMW’s or BENZ’s, living in their big house with a sub-prime mortgage, always concerned about how they are dressed. They don’t have any real investments and are not owing any businesses, they are all PRETENDERS.

Look at the demographic make up of Clayton County, a large black population, many were pushed into the county after all of the projects in the City of Atlanta were torn down. Some of these people do not know how to make an informed decision regarding voting in a qualified candidate, their minds are in other places and we see it on the news all the time. All these people see is someone with the same skin pigment as theirs so they listen to the lies these political candidates tell them and they go out to vote for them, if they vote at all. What a sad state for the black community and Clayton County at large.

Again where’s Elgart and SACS? Is it that SACS “only” plays in Clayton local politics!

Why is the school board not addressing Heatley’s refusal to follow the law? Is the school board also afraid for us to see how much CCPS has paid Glen Brock? An Open Records request has officially been made to ask to view documents showing how much CCPS paid Glen Brock. By law, Heatley has three days to respond. It’s been over a week with no response which is in violation of the law. Didn’t the new board promise to be ethical? Is this ethical? Where is the give em the boot? I though they were Clayton’s advocate? Are they afraid of Heatley, trying to get in with Heatley, or just unaware of what’s going on?

I bet Preacher McMichael was a regular at the Tara Blvd massage parlors.

Speaking of which, everybody’s down on Lil Ol’ Walking Small; but at least he shet down all the dens-of-iniquity-hot-beds-of-crime massage parlors. Those places were so bad that when one drove by there might be at least one car outside; usually none. Now we can sleep at night knowing no one’s getting a massage and relaxicatin in OUR county.
