Business is booming at the local library. In DeKalb County, the library system posted a 6 percent increase in circulation last year. Maybe it’s a sign of the economic times.
How often do you visit your local library? Are you more likely to buy books than to check them out at the library?
Pointed discussion, and sometimes random musings, from the Atlanta metro area

I visit The Coweta County Public Library at least twice a month; checking out books and audio, however just last week, I bought a book from Barnes and Noble (I have a membership) because I didn’t want to wait for the borrower to return the library’s sole copy. It just depends on how badly I want to read/listen.
I have to admit, I appreciate the sanctitiy of silence that the library offers and am glad they still exist.

I have always enjoyed going to the public library, Redan-Trotti Library in DeKalb County is closer to my home than any bookstore. I love reading and, since retiring, I read new books so fast that it doesn’t make sense for me to buy them anymore. It also makes me feel good to see so many children (especially little boys) actually showing an interest in reading. How cool is that?!
