What do you think of the new Facebook design?

What do you think of Facebook’s new redesign?

If you’re like thousands of users, the answer is it sucks.

Among the problems, it’s just more difficult to navigate. The status feeds and posts are confusing. I want my old Facebook back. At least until they come up with something better than this.

It’s “bad, bad, bad,” said one user on an application that lets users comment on the changes. Another wrote: “stop trying to be Twitter.”

What do you think of the change?

Come on people, its not that much different from the last update. It takes maybe 5 minutes to find where everything is. Get over it.

To me, it’s not that bad. But lots of other folks seem to hate it … a lot.

Time to revert to the previous version. It tends to get rather cluttered fast.

I don’t like the new design. I don’t mind getting used to something new, if there’s an advantage to it. The thing is, the new design doesn’t make facebook better – so why did Facebook bother with it? I’d rather revert back.

There are a few things I like about the new design. The right hand side has some of the ‘notes’ features that used to be in the regular status.
My main problems are that I get notified when one of my friends uses an App to send a gift even if I don’t know the person they are sending it to. I really don’t care that my friend hid Easter Eggs in everyone’s profiles. There doesn’t seem to be any kind of seeting to get rid of these. I’ve tried setting all of the Applications to ‘Don’t show without asking’ and yet I’m still getting notified.
Also, I don’t like that I can’t just ‘See Less’ of someone, I have to hide them completely. I have a cousin who is on twitter and updates his status on Facebook incessantly. I’ve had to hide his status which means I never see anything of his. Prefer to just be able to see less so that I get an occasional notice about his status.

I joined Facebook about a month ago, so the new design hasn’t affected me quite as much as someone who would have had more time to grow accustomed to the old design. Nonetheless, I see many areas where improvements could be made in the new design, and on the whole I don’t care for it too much. In fact, I’m finding myself back on MySpace more and more now…

I’m not a fan of it at all. I have no problems with adjusting to change, but this one just isn’t easy to get used to at all.

I too truly dislike the new facebook. They took something so easy and usefull in so many ways and made it hard to navigate. I believe strongly if it is not broken do not try and fix it. My useage of facebook has coonsiderly gone down at this point.

I don’t like it. However, it has broken my addiction. Now I just check it once per week.

I hate it. You can’t see when one of your friends makes a new friend anymore, which after all, is what networking is all about. I agree with Penguinmom – I don’t care if someone hid 25 Easter eggs in their friends’ baskets. That’s just unnecessary clutter.

I don’t like it at all. I’d much rather have the last layout, where everything was easily seen and accessible. Just my $0.02

I dont like the new Facebook either. I am all for change if it is for the better but I think it is not better. Too much stuff from other people that is not necesary.

I absolutely HATE it! If I hadn’t reconnected with so many old friends from high school (20 yrs ago) I would delete my account with them.

How do you delete the unnecessary Easter Egg to people you don’t know? I don’t like it. New FB has cured my addiction as well

I find some of the older folks who are on there get carried away with all the cutsie-pooh stuff like the Easter eggs. The newest newbies are constantly bombarding me with friend suggestions- mostly folks I hardly know or never chat with in person.
I’m not a huge fan of the new format but I’ll adapt and I’ll continue checking it now and then.

Like I have heard a lot of people say. “If it ain’t broke, dont fix it.” That is the case here for the new Facebook.

What was so wrong with the old Facebook that they had to fix it?

I absolutely have a distaste for this new facebook, simply because it is too cluttered. You cant get the page where its just all status’s anymore. You have to have it interwoven with all the other junk people post. Also, on the home page you can no longer see what your status message is, which is a real inconvience to me and to several of my friends.

For the sake of Facebook they better change it back, lest they loose millions of hits a day.

I think the new Facebook is horrid. I agree, its cluttered, hard to navigate and no way to get rid of all the junk that shows up all the time. I went to Facebook, because I really didn;’t want MySpace. I loved the ease of use, and the look of it. Too bad I can’t say that anymore about Facebook.

Everytime they change it, they make it worse. They couldn’t care less about people’s opinions either.

Not much! The old interface was fine. Once you get accustomed to how to manipulate settings to control privacy, I find it not that bad. Initially, it sucked though —

There’s something about Facebook in general that I don’t like. I can’t put my finger on it but why would you want to publish personal information for all to see and read. Networking is one thing. Privacy is quite another. People can and will use this info whether you know it or not.

Well, the first day I had to use the new format, my friend and I were having a conversation about me coming to see her for vacation. She mentioned that, with the bad economy, I could either have cable or food, heat or clean sheets. I thought I wrote her back, but actually posted to my status, “I’ll take the heat and clean sheets.” We had a big laugh.

Youtube and facebook are great examples of things that were fine until a bunch of people got their evil hands into it. The result is they don’t improve anything, but make peoples’ lives miserable instead. Go f yourself, facebook.

I canceled my FB and MS accounts. Turns out my telephone works just as well, and it’s a lot faster… and I get a phone signal in a lot more places than Wi-Fi… Go figure…

They’ve turned us into spammers. Everything you post shows up in one place: on the news feed. And not only on YOUR news feed, but also on all your FRIENDS’ news feeds. So we’re spamming ourselves and our friends. It STINKS!

I usually love an update or a change, but Facebook really blew it with this one. I don’t need to see every person who wastes their time taking a quiz or sending someone an easter egg. Please go back to what you had!!!

I hate the new FB format! Every time someone takes a quiz, makes it to a new level or buys a motorcycle in Mafia or Mob wars, I get a HUGE long post on it! I miss my Live Feed and my one liner updates from friends. I hate that you have to go to folk’s pages to see what friends they’ve added…..I love change but this change just stinks!!!
