There are few signs of the snow storm that hit metro Atlanta on Sunday.
Perhaps the most obvious sign was a decrease in traffic. Many school systems canceled classes and workers either waited until later in the day to report to the job – or didn’t go at all.
If you’re used to snowy weather, this may not seem like a big deal. But in Atlanta, a dusting is too much.
Did metro Atlanta overreact to bad weather – again? Are we wimps when it comes to a little snow and ice or is it better to be safe than sorry?

I don’t think we overreacted. We get snow so rarely, the kids missing school one day isn’t that big a deal. If it happened more often, then yes. Better to ere on the safe side, though, not knowing where the ice was going to form for the school busses to hit since our counties aren’t prepared like those to the north.

I’ve lived here for over 30 years – and lived in Chicago before that. ATLANTA ALWAYS OVERREACTS! And all Atlanta’s TV weatherfolks contribute to it!

There is no overreaction when the safety of our children is at stake. A lot of school buses begin picking up children before daylight. Imagine the reaction had a bus load of children been involved in an accident. Priorties, People, priorties!

People saying Atlanta overreacts every time it snows are way off base. First of all, snow down here is a big deal………What we have a snow storm every 5 years…….enjoy it, get excited, life’s too short. Secondly, my brother lives in NY, they do the same thing up there when there’s a threat of snow, jam the markets, buy all the beer, milk and bread they can carry. Only difference is they have to shovel it when it’s done. I like the ATL experience better.
