Should Rihanna photos be shown publicly?

The website TMZ has published what appears to be a photo of a badly beaten Rihanna.

The origin of the photo is not known, but it shows a woman’s face with scratches, bruises, a busted lip and swelling. The popular singer was allegedly attack by boyfriend Chris Brown.

It begs the question: Should media outlets show photos of a battered Rihanna? This website elected not to publish the photo, but to give readers a link to the TMZ site, where the photo could be viewed.

Clearly, she’s a public figure and the incident has received a great deal of media attention. But is it wrong to show photos of victim of a violent attack, particularly domestic violence?

Should a line be drawn?

Sure they should be shown. It let’s the adoring public realize what a tough guy Chris Brown really is. I wonder what this young idol’s fans think about his talents now? I also wonder how he’d fare in a back alley trading hands with a man. What a chump. I hope she learned something about judging character.

whats the real reason behind showing her pictures to the world what are we going to gain from this. there’s too much other issues that need being address rather than talking about chris and rihanna.its nothing more than a stunt to more damaged to chris. unfortunatly this has happen but we need to let the courts decide what fate chris gets and not the public.both images are damaged from this and he deserves justice until the truth comes out. and don’t misunderstand i’m not saying that he should be let off or anything just let the system work.i like both of them and i really hate that this has happen. hopefully they will both go and seek help for this

I don’t think they should have been shown without her permission. This will hurt both Rihanna and Chris’ career. I mean if there’s anything for Chris to salvage, he’s pretty much done.

At first, I thought the site was in error in showing the picture. However, once you think about it…this is not a situation of domestic violence. It was an altercation between two people. The media is trying to make it into a domestic violence issue but she is not the face or an example of domestic violence. Let focus on some real issues.

The pictures should not have been shown without her permission. The only thing that came out of showing the pictures was more embarrassment for Rihanna. She is already hurting why dig the knife a little deeper.

The pictures should be treated like any other pictures from a crime scene involving a Jane and/or John Doe. However, any wimp that places his hands on a woman should be hog tied and beaten! But the courts need to also respect a man’s right to defend himself within reason against aggressive women that do attack men.

At What cost???

What does this prove by showing the photos? We’ve pretty much convicted Chris Brown without a hearing or trial. No matter what the reasons for his actions, men young or old. Control yourself, women should not be battered!!! The public and the legal system will not stand for it.

No Rhianna’s photos should not have been shown publicly. What she is going through is very personal and so sad.
