Customers complain of AT&T U-verse outages

Follow us on Twitter @AJCBiz

(Updated 4:28 p.m.) AT&T U-verse customers in Atlanta and other parts of the network blasted the company on social media Tuesday with complaints of outages to their high-speed Internet, digital TV and home phone services.

The company said problem, blamed on a computer server, is believed to have affected fewer than 6,000 of its millions of customers in the Southeast and Southwest.

In addition to complaints in metro Atlanta, problems were reported as far west as Texas and Oklahoma, and south as Florida. Customers vented on Twitter and Facebook about being without U-verse service for hours. They were also angry about long waits on the phone with AT&T customer service.

Tweeted @GSUAmanda: “@Uverse We’ve been patient, we know your “techs/engineers” are working, we know you’re sorry. Give us something we DON’T know. #uverse”

Some customers reported that problems with U-verse began Monday, although AT&T said it was difficult to say exactly when the problems began.

Customer Tamara Robison of Duncanville, Texas, complained Monday on Facebook: “This was my day off and no TV or internet for 9 hours now. No explanation and no expected time for it to be fixed. This is unacceptable. No inauguration for me.”

Asked @EricRitchie on Twtter, “@ATT Will I be receiving a credit for the inconvenience? @uverse is far too expensive to be shorted service availability.”

AT&T spokesman Lance Skelly told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution no plan had been worked out so far about credits to accounts. He also said AT&T doesn’t know when the “complicated fix” to a server that supports the U-verse system will be completed.

“We have been working around the clock and are making progress on resolving the issue,” Skelly said. “We apologize for any inconvenience to our customers.”

The spokesman said only “a limited number of AT&T customers in some markets” were affected.

That was little consolation to customers who took to Twitter to complain. “It’s been over 24 hours without TV thanks to #Uverse #at&t so annoyed!!” tweeted @nancyozon

On Facebook, Courtney Crawford posted: “I live in NC and I’ve been without Internet for 24 hours possibly more, I was told it would be back up in 6 hours but obviously not, I have a fiancé overseas and I can’t even talk to him!!!!”

I changed ti U verse and have regretted every day. It is impossible to deal with the people in this Company. They will not do what they said they would do. I made a big mistake.. I would not be surprised at any adverse service problem from ATT.

I’ve had U Verse for 2.5 years and until late last night, or early this morning, I’ve never had a problem with them. However, what I found frustrating was that I do not get a cell phone signal in my apartment regardless of the carrier, so I couldn’t call them. The other problem was I got a message on my browser to go to their website to report a problem, which is stupid when I clearly have no way of doing it.

When I woke up this morning it was working.

Service went out around midnight and when I got up at 9 this morning it was still out. At 11am everything was back on. I don’[t like calling techs because they keep you on the phone troubleshooting for a long time. When U-Verse goes out everything is out and it is a big headache if the techs cannot fix the problem over the phone. We then have to wait for a tech to physically arrive at our address which could be another 24 hrs depending on schedules. But ATT U-Verse services are better than others in the market.

That is what you get when you deal with a Union shop. They will “work” for 15 minutes, take a break for 30, then come back and attempt to restart what they were doing. They are not allowed to think out of the box. Union run companies are the most unproductive organizations and detrimental to the growth of business. They don’t have to work to get paid and they know they cannot get fired for lack of effort.

Mine was working fine and I’ve had a wonderful experience with AT&T. DirectTV is also pretty good but the rest suck. Since I’ve had Uverse I’ve never had an outage, but even if I did once I wouldn’t mind. When I had comcast i could expect an outage twice a week.

I’ve got a great idea! Let’s ‘privatize’ all the government services because the business sector and giant corporations will do oh so much better! Just look at how well AT&T, the airlines, WalMart et al treat their customers! And after we privatize all services to these great corporations, make sure you keep your payments up to date especially for police and fire departments. You don’t want to be caught with a house on fire, or a burglar in your house and be told “sorry, your account is not up to date, you’ll just have to handle that fire or that home invader by your lonesome libertarian self.”

Now that the Public Servic Commissions don’t have any teeth, AT&T has figured out that their service only has to be better than the competition’s. Luckily for them, cable companies have notoriously bad service. I miss the days when AT&T (BellSouth) had to actually provide good service or risk having that next rate increase veteod by the PSC. You can thank deregulation for that and the lousy service you get on airlines as well.

My service was out for over a week this summer and no could figue out the problem. I hade a total of four technicians come to my house and say the problem was somebody elses department. The problem finally got resolved after all my equipment was replaced. I have reached my limit with Uverse. IF I get home and my service is off, I am calling comcast or direct tv.

We had no Uverse for over 9 hours but I called AT&T spoke to a very nice man and he told me how wide the interruption in service was and that they were working on it. A pleasant person to talk to and being told they are aware and working on it is the best you can hope for. I’m very happy I switched from Comcast to AT&T. Comcast was always going out and was hard to talk to someone in person. AT&T workers are so friendly and competent. This is the first time we have lost service since I switched to them over 2 years ago.

Ours went out at 2am Tuesday (Jacksonville, FL). We are now in the 11th hour. No Internet, No TV, and No phone service. AT&T better take note of how quick their customers will say adios if they do not make a serious attempt at an apology (ie money speaks louder than words). As many problems as we seem to have with this U-verse service, they better make it good!!

I have been with Comcast for the past decade, you want to talk about idiots, I would work as a Port-a-john cleaner before I worked for Comcast. Where do these people come from ? I have attempted to switch to AT&T on a number of occasions, I have had sales people come to my house attempting to get me to switch, I receive promotionals with my name and address and with special codes for reduced rates to switch by a specified date at least once per month, I have called and went thru the motions to switch only to be told after several minutes that AT&T is not in my neighborhood, I will even tell the sales person who rings my door bell that AT&T is not in my community, talk about idiots ! I still receive these monthly promotions trying to get me to switch, I’ve request they stop sending these false promotions to my address, now I just call the number on the promotion, give the special code number and ask to speak with Obama, after a few seconds of silence the person on the other end of the line will ask Obama ? I then tell them my story of continuing to receive these false claims of lower bills and better service if I switch, obviously Obama must be there, for who else promises HOPE and CHANGE and is so full of bs .

With the notion of antitrust basically being thrown out the window over the last 30 years, we’re left with a handful of oligopolies in telecommunications that rate near the bottom in customer satisfaction among companies in all industries. So what’s the solution, drop ATT for Comcast or Charter which according to customer satisfaction surveys are even worse?

If you want to get these oligopolies to invest more in customer service, make them report regularly to a regulator with teeth (and the ability to audit) on how often service was down or below 100% speed and make the companies automatically reduce customer bills as compensation.

You would think that all of the service providers mentioned above would have improved by now, but the service remains the same! At this point, you would think that competition would dictate improvements on the behalf of all of the providers. I recommend doing away with all contracts. This would cause all providers to step up the quality of their services. I predicted years ago that contracts would be a thing of the past by now! Boy was I wrong! After they have arrested you with a contract, they force you to make bail if you want to leave! ATTICA!, ATTICA!

What company has never had a customer care complaint? I will have been a Uverse customer 5 years in April. They have resolved every issue in a reasonalbe time frame. With Comcast I prayed that when I scheduled service the guy would show up just because they did not actually schedule the call. Or, have my neighbor stand up Comcast, not actually schedule me and the guy stood in my yard for an hour waiting on dispatch, but couldn’t help me. With Uverse I have been sent across the ocean for help and then been hung up on being transferred back to Tier 2 in the states. But I called back, pressed 0 and got a live person and asked to be sent to Tier 2 – no problem. Every TIer 2 person has been helpful and sincere. Tier 1 acrros the ocean knows as much as me, but takes 4 times as much time to figure out the problem while they read from a script. As if there is a Randy in a call center in India…

My uverse internet/home phone have been out over 24 hrs. Stayed on the line for 30 min last night and 45 today begging for an appt with a technivcian just in case mine was do to remodeling. ATT won’t even allow me to make a flipping appt with a tech b/c i’m in the outage area. So, if it all comes back on and I’m still out of service I have to place a 3rd call (another 45 min?) to request an appt which will take at least 24 to fill. Did I mention I work from home? Come on ATT come up with something more efficient for small business owners….

DP

January 22nd, 2013

amy brings up another point on how these telecommunications oligopolies (and the giant companies in many other industries) do business. Simply calling and getting to talk to a live body is typically a 15-20 minute exercise at a minimum and more often 30 minutes to an hour or more; you have to figure out your way through a series of menus that are apparently designed to make it as hard as possible to reach an actual person, then you generally get to listen to elevator music for awhile, periodically interrupted by a computer voice telling you how many others are waiting in front of you to talk to a near minimum wage employee.

And then if you’re really unlucky, you get somebody in India who knows little other than how to repeat back everything you say to them.

“My internet service is out.”
“So if I understand you, your internet service is out. Is that correct?”

In other news today, ATT is buying the assets of Alltel. Consumers, you may try to run from ATT or Comcast but you can’t hide.

1st, for the mouth breather complaining about union labor, the uverse side of the house is mostly non-union. 2nd, people need to understand there is a difference between real internet and phone service as opposed to de-regulated broadband internet and phone service. Broadband is the entity that is failed and that is why some people are working and others are not. If you think it’s bad now, wait until it’s all move to de-regulated IP services

A hearty AMEN to the useless AT&T sentiment. I am now entering my sixth year of reliably having ZERO Internet service (often accompanied by no phone) when it rains. A couple of years ago I sent President / CEO Randall Stephenson a “Christmas Card” at his home in Dallas noting our ongoing substandard service. Pretty much they are clueless on the best of days, from top to bottom. Well, except for BILLING – always prompt and efficient, but actual service not so much. Our service is all underground and our options are only the two worst providers on the planet. AT&T deserves first place on the incompetent list, however. Recently they told me that they do not support the use of Microsoft products – DUH? Nice try on the excuses. On the bright side, I get refunds any month that it rains, and lately we’ve been quite dry.

I’m calling BS on this one. At 2am their tech told me that the bulk of 13 states were out and portions of other states as well. Mine was out from 12:30am until 11:00 am. Only problem was that in complaining and following I found out their record keeping was incorrect and I should not have lost service. I have had U-verse for 1 1/2 years and this is the second outage I have had. Everyone I work with, we all work from home, that has a different service has been out many times in that 1 1/2. U-verse has been great. DirectTV told us that our contract was over and when we tried to leave they said we had two years on it because we got a new DVR. This was not the truth as the DVR we received was a used and was verified used by a tech. If they send a used DVR they cannot extend the contract. This has been an issue with DirecTV for many years. I have switched between DirecTV and Dish when contracts expired because of customer service. U-verse has given the best service of all.

I wonder how many of these ‘happy customer’ posts are real? I work for a large company in cobb county and several coworkers have Uverse and every one of them hate it. They all have several issues, constantly. My neighborhood was ‘test’ site for this product about 2 years when it was being rolled and we are one of the few that refused to join the cattle call. None of our neighbors are happy with AT&T. The service techs have stolen good cabling and replaced it with crappy cables, service is slow and inconsistents, remotes don’t work, etc…. Not to mention that if you have AT&T cell service in our neighbor, those in the ‘valley’ section can’t get cell reception, but I can on my Verizon phone !!!

I have had Uverse for about 1.5 yrs, and until today, zero problems. Mine was out from 7 to 9 this morning, and then I left for work. Came home at 330 and it’s back. Pretty minor compared to the previous frequent Dish weather outages.

And no, I’m not a paid shill, just an honest customer that only complains when it’s warranted.

Have had U-verse for about 3 – 4 years now – one of their “original” customers, I believe. In these 3 – 4 years, we have only had 2 outages of more than 2 hours – and, AT&T customer service was very prompt and good about walking me through the trouble-checking procedures. The first time, when they realized it was a problem with our line in our neighborhood, they sent technicians out who re-ran all of the lines in our neighborhood – it took them 2 days, but they constantly kept us up to date on when they would be done. Before U-verse, we had Charter (yucky#!*) – it was down at least 3 – 4 times PER WEEK!! And, we only had about 70 channels to surf, as opposed to the hundreds we have with U-verse! We have been VERY pleased with our service!

After years being a satisfied customer of Comcast here in Georgia we switched to AT&T because of rising cost of Comcast. My Comcast never went out in the 12 yrs I had it. I felt relieved knowing that in case of bad weather that we get here that my Comcast would be there. We switched to AT&T unfortunatly yesterday at 11:30 AM and loss TV/internet at 6:30pm and still did not have service at 10am when I left the house today. I read many posts here and hope I don’t regret the move, not a happy new customer right now.

Auntie Christ – another imbecile Obama voter, probably.

You think nationalizing those businesses would somehow make them immune to occasional hardware failures? Have you seen how efficient the Post Office and DMV are?

The Italian national phone service was so atrocious that the moment cell phones were offered by private cell service companies, the majority of callers in the country switched over.

A monopoly provider is NEVER better than free market competition. If you disagree, feel free to move to North Korea and put your looney liberal idiot theories to the test.

Uverse is an incredibly WONDERFUL experience… compared to Windstream Communications.

Over the new year, we had a similar outage to the ATT thing. I called Windstream. First, wanted me to jump through all kinds of hoops to troubleshoot my system. When I balked and demanded a service call, they THEN said that service will be impaired until at least Jan 31. Seriously. Only when I demanded a service call did they admit that: 1) there was not a problem with my house/modem/etc and 2) they were having widespread problems in North Georgia. In short, they lied to me.

We have a transportation problem in Atlanta. One option is working from home. But that option only works if you have 100% reliable internet. That means hundreds and thousands of employees in Atlanta metro commute every day because their internet is not reliable enough to work from home.
Our local (county) governments regulate internet service in our community. They have a habit of granting monopolies on local service, and are reluctant to allow competition. Oh, you should have heard the wails of Windstream at our county commission’s monthly meeting when a commissioner started considering an alternate web service provider for our county (but… but… we brought jobs to this county). You would have thought that Windstream Communications was sent from god to my house, and that the county had no business changing that arrangement. So now I still have crappy service, and no one anywhere is willing to do anything about it.

Trust me when I say uverse is a dream compared to Windstream. I would swap one 9 hour outage for months and years minimal crappy service.

Meh. I’ve had comcast less than a year and have had 3 similar outages. I work from home, and all the outages were during the middle of business days, causing serious inconvenience. No matter who your provider is, you’re going to have outages. It’s a matter of when, not if. The good thing about U-Verse, since it’s all newly-dug fiber and copper, is that it’s less likely to go out due to weather when compared to cable or satellite.

Someone above mentioned a liberal work force. AT&T is split. The folks you talk to on the phone are union workers who threaten to strike every couple of years, costing the company they work for (AT&T) good amounts of money. They threaten strikes over the usual stuff-benefits and raises. They already receive better benefits than the regular employees, and have guaranteed raises (which the employees do not). And on top of that, they give the whole company a bad name due to incredibly poor customer service. They’re parasites, and I’m sure there are plenty of folks who’d love to have their jobs and would provide better service.

For the ones that think people use uverse for only tv, wrong. Some people depend on uverse to work for home. Some people need to have phone service for medical reasons. I personally have never had an issue with Uverse in the 3 years I have had their service. So for reliability, I am very happy. But AT&T needs to be forthcoming about what is going one. I really doubt this only effected a small number of people. I know everyone one in my neighborhood that uses Uverse was down and well as most of the people in my office. Things happen, we get that, but let us know realistically what is going on and what to expect. And it would make since to use the automated phone system to tell callers about the outage up front and not to go through all the questions, then tell the caller oh there is an outage. After you put your number in, that is when you can say there is a reported outage in your area, or in today’s situation, in multiple states.

I am definitely not being paid by Comcast but Comcast service technicians were always courteous and prompt about handling the rare problems I had. All I can say is since I switched to U-Verse several months ago, I’ve had nothing but problems and interruptions in service. Several of my co-workers switched to U-Verse when I did and they’re all very sorry they made the move. My service has been very unreliable and customer service terrible. My service has been out all day (phone, internet and TV) and I have not been able to talk to anyone yet. When you depend on your connections for your job, as my husband does, this is a real issue. I had Comcast for years and finally got sick of paying the exhorbitant prices they charge customers not in the promotional period honeymoon. I live in Dunwoody and U-Verse was not available but fast access DSL was and at a much better price than Comcast so I switched. Right after Christmas, the Internet and phone service in our area went down. A week later it was still down and the AT&T recorded message kept extending the fix date by a day or two. I couldn’t get a customer service person on the phone so went to billing to cancel my service. They checked into the situation and couldn’t argue with me and cancelled my service and refunded my $150 setup fee. I had Comcast back up and running within an hour at half the price I had been paying a month and a half prior. Bottom line is one company grossly overcharges while the other puts no value on reliability of service. Pick your poison!

This is where having alternate communication systems help might have helped some of the affected Uverse customers. For television, have an old fashioned rabbit ear or outside mounted antenna. If you are in a decent signal area you may be able to pick up the Over The Air(OTA) television signals from the local stations broadcasting ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, and PBS. In some areas there are independent OTA broadcasters running unique programming.

The loss of internet is more difficult to have an alternate for. If you have one of the advanced 3G or 4G smartphones that act as hotspots you can use that for limited critical searches. Remember that, if the outage is widespread, thousands of other subscribers will be attempting to access the same 3G or 4G system. Mobile cellular wireless based internet service is a limited capacity shared resource, so you need to keep your on line activities limited to searches for critical information. That means no video. This allows others to get the critical information they need in a reasonably timely manner.

It wasn't THAT bad!

Uverse seems to be a very mixed bag of service quality. A coworker who moved from Texas to central Georgia strongly states that he had reliable, but expensive, service when he used Uverse in Texas. Maybe that is due to AT&T’s headquarters being there? He has stated his desire for it to come to central Georgia to compete with Cox. Others have horrible stories of never being able to get reliable service from Uverse. One of the problems with Uverse is that the actual hardware and software configurations of the outside equipment vary depending on when and where it was installed. The technology was misused to save money on capital costs. If AT&T had dealt with the limitations of VDSL upfront, I think they would have avoided some of the issues they face today. The first would have been to run the fiber optic cables much closer to each residence or business. This would have shortened the distance the signal had to travel over the outside copper portion of the network. That would have given multiple advantages. They could have offered Uverse with one significant speed profile to all subscribers, maybe 24Mbps downstream, with plenty of capacity leftover for perhaps 6 simultaneous HD video channels and 6 simultaneous high quality audio VOIP operations.

According to a tech this morning, a limited amount of customers is now 2.5 million.
My service has been out since 2:40 am EST Tuesday, I could not find anything out online at work yesterday through the ATT website, last night & this morning I had two horrible waits of over 20 minutes each time with the most awful hold/wait music designed to get you to hang up. Comcast will screw you for being a “loyal” customer by not offereing you any promotions plus asking for another $10/mo for HD service and only giving you about 70 channels under the so-called expanded basic. When my 10 year old cell phone died, I got a new phone at an ATT store and let some 14 year old sales girl talk me into going with Uverse. We’ve had it for a month. It pixellates, skips, and the remote isn’t responsive on main DVR box – even the volume. I’m not loving it, but for the same price we were paying Comcast we get about 500 channels (a lot of crap, but still..some premium upgrades), HD service and a DVR. Who cares about that stupid wireless TV crap? Like somebody’s moving a TV around to watch it? Please. What I really hate is how full of bloatware and the endless texts and emails from ATT that nickel and dime you to death. The salesperson told me we’d be able to re-up with another promotion in a year’s time, something Comcast wouldn’t allow. I now think that wasn’t true, but had no reason not to believe her at the time. We’ll see. I do get live people answering my calls so far, and have not spoken to anyone in India – where my job is about to go. I go to work for the time being, and don’t think we’ve been down but a lot of people at work are commenting on no service.

In other words, probably back to Comcast next Dec, if I can still afford it, that is. At least that service rarely went out.

I was told by a customer service representative that the outage covers 90% of their customers.

I’ve been without AT&T services for almost 48 hours now. I’m happy to read a book or walk the dog instead of watching TV, but that is not the issue. No access to news for two days. No phone line for two days. No ability to work from home. One day of outage, okay. Three days? Not acceptable.

Down for 30 hours – suggestions for bundled folks – call AT&T and have them forward your home phones to your cell – put up a ‘vacation’ message on your small (It really doesn’t have to be a nice message if you feel like pointed comment about Uverse service)

So the rep told me that she was emailing me something about how to get back on line. Had to remind her that it would be hard to read with NO SERVICE. They will tell you nothing but they are aware when you call. We have multiple smart phones and $200 of cable monthly on top of that. All will be switched by this weekend. I am the customer. I am being ignored. My entire neighborhood is out but since its “limited” I guess we dont matter.

Ours was out for more than 24 hours. We’ve had at least a dozen outages in two years. I thought Charter was bad, and they are, but so far Uverse has been worse.

Well I have had U-Verse for over 3 years now and this is the real outage I have ever had. I am actually surprised like with any new technology, unforseen issues can surface. True, some lessons are probably going to be learned by AT&T but at least the service is by far much better than Comcast. You have to understand how it works to appreciate the technology. Comcast has x # of channels to choose from, U-Verse has unlimited capablities as each channel is delieverd by demand.

Tommy, Uverse has packages just like every other company. Sure, you can “add” channels wit the click of a button. Which upgrades your package and adds another $30 to your bill.

Terrific.

My service was back on by the time I got home at 5 pm. It went out on Monday evening. I do like Uverse, I havent been with them long but for what I wanted in cable service, it is more affordable and better than what I had previously.

My service was spotty yesterday, (dropped several business calls), and completely out today. The customer service line, 800-288-2020, provides an automated message of a network outage and then encourages you to hang up by saying their agents have no additional information.

I certainly would hate to inconvenience AT&T by clogging up their customer service network. Please forgive my insolence in hoping for more information.

I have been without Internet, Phone, and TV since early Monday AM in Memphis, TN. The ATT tech said they did not know when the service would be back up. Posts have said only 6000 customers have been inconvenienced. Do we really believe that? NOOOO.

This has all of the earmarks of a DoS attack and they don’t want to admit it to keep from exacerbating the issue. And to the idiot savants, for me this is not a loss of recreation to me but my occupation. Just because you only use the net for online gaming, porn, etc. doesn’t mean everyone is like you. The loss of my television service is inconsequential compared to having to spend my day at McDonald’s without my resources. In the old days I kept a POTS line for a dial up backup but that is no longer feasible as an option.

It most certainly is a DoS attack. It’s coming from the same group that hacked emails on this server over the last 2 weeks. AT&T ignored the complaints by telling everyone it’s nothing, just change your password. Now we’re all paying the price. Lets just hope the earlier comment about the 25this not correct.

overall POOR infrastructure?…both cable and phone are still out…took my laptop to McDonald and worked …interesting….called ATT U Verse 3 xs today – very polite front line employees – they agreed more updates should be made to customers as to a hard line turn on date……an ATT spokesperson advised 1% of their customer base was effected …as if that was to celebrate. SHAME.

I am in the ATL area, lost connectivity yesterday around 3 in the afternoon ~ while I was working! I was frustrated at first, called AT&T to report problem (not knowing then of the area wide outage) and was dealt with politely by a non-accented English speaking rep. I was offered a reduction on next month’s bill for being inconvenienced. Fine service. Ok, did what could be done, now what? People, I had to laugh at myself for being momentarily freaked out by my cord being yanked from the wall. How stupid! Picked up a book and snuggled down with a cup of coffee.

After reading all the comments I wanted to put in my two cents. We only received our uverse internet last Thurs. 1-17-13 and was told that it would not be available until 8pm that night. We waited until 8pm and it still would not connect so our FIRST phone call was made. We were advised that it would take 4 to 6 hours before we would be up and running. Our next problem was Monday 1-21-13 we tried to sign on at 8:30pm to skype with the parents. No internet. We called the number and also got the pre-recorded message about the entire system being down. Tues. morning 1-22-13 the “green” lights were on again and it ran with no problem during the day but the evening it went down again. Tech support was called and we were told the system in our area was up and running again and we needed a service tech to come out. That was scheduled for the next day. Wed. morning 1-23-13 “green” lights again and the service tech was there in the morning. He saw no problems with the system but went ahead and installed a new line just for the internet and a new ground wire. Guess what? 8:30pm that evening NO SERVICE AGAIN! I called the tech number and was on hold for right around an hour and then spoke with “Dennis” who sounded like he was in India. He told me to unplug the unit and plug it back in. Still had the red light and no service. He said a service tech would have to come out. Advised we already had one out that morning. Was told they would have to send someone out again. This morning, “green” lights again! Tech came out this afternoon said everything was looking good. Advised it was always around 8:30pm that is goes out. Said he will call tomorrow morning to see if it does it again tonight. If it does he will replace the unit. No complaints about the service tech. he is doing everything he can think of but uverse was a bad move on our part for sure.

It suprises people when they get phone, internet and tv over the same phone line, and when one is out all are out. DUH. I can’t even get DSL where I live, have satelite internet and satelite tv, both may go out in a severe storm but that is only a few minutes. They are never our any amount of time. As far as getting someone that doesn’t speak english for customer support, they do speak english they just have and Indian accent. After all why pay Americans when they can outsource to India cheaper, btw they make up American names.
