11 p.m. update: The winning Powerball numbers drawn Wednesday night are: 6, 27, 46, 51, 56; and the Powerball is: 21.
2:45 p.m. update: Georgia Lottery President Margaret DeFrancisco has announced she plans to retire. See latest story.
Previous story: With $320 million you could buy your closest friends a $2.6 million Bugatti Veyron Supersport car, one of the most expensive cars in world, or one of Germany’s $1.4 million Maybach Landaulet sedans, something a little roomier.
Or maybe you’re looking for a bigger place to live. The 35,000-square-foot Fleur de Lys mansion in Beverly Hills is still on the market for $125 million. It’s the most expensive home for sale in the U.S., according to Forbes. Or if you’re looking for something a little smaller and closer to home, former Hawks coach Joe Johnson’s 13,822-square-foot Old Londberry community home in northwest Atlanta is for sale for a mere $4.7 million.
Maybe you’re the Warren Buffett type, whose main goal is not conspicuous consumption, but rather to let your money work for you by investing in stocks and bonds. By the way, Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway stock was selling for around $127,198 a share on Wednesday.
Whatever your plans, you’ll have plenty to work with if you hit Wednesday’s Powerball jackpot. It will be the fourth-largest in Powerball history.
Powerball is played in 42 states, including the District of Columbia. Tickets cost $2 for a single play for one drawing. The drawing is held at 10:59 p.m.
What would you do with all that moolah?

I would try and live a stress free life and travel at leisure. However, additionally I would donate a percentage to charity. For example, Feeding the homeless, sponsoring college scholarships, etc…
It would be great to win but hollow if I gave nothing back to help others.

To retire from the worst employer on the planet; I would try to give cash gifts to the poor saps who had to stay here and work for this worthless banking services company. LOL, I’d love to sue my employer, but it would be best to take the money and run, as Steve Miller used to say. Better to leave the terms of their punishment to JC on that Day, although I’d in this case I’d certainly love to help Him…

I would go find that one friend from growing up that you really don’t like any more because he made dumb decisions and tried to screw you over to point that you are no longer friends… I would buy up the 3 or 4 lots directly in front of his house and build a mansion.
I would then run for some kind of public office and run the most truthful, politically incorrect, and uncensored adds I could come up with on public television because the FCC cannot censor campaign adds under the first amendment.
Finally, the philanthropist in me would probably spend the rest of my money trying to get as many people as possible addicted to cigarettes, A) to get rid of all the smoke free laws to make this country more like the 70’s, and B) to help with global over population so as to buy us more time on this planet because at 2.5% growth rate the population doubles ever 14 years. I don’t want to be stuck here with 60 billion people by the time I am ready to die.
If you are socialist and disagree, then go petition your government to keep people like me from playing

I would use a good portion of these winnings to fund scholarships for those from disadvantaged backgrounds to go to the best schools. I would fund housing for abused women and children, too. We are suffering from the awful economy President Obama inherited from President Bush. To blame President Obama for the horrible debt created by two wars and increased military spending would be the equivalent of blaming President Truman for WW11. Only idiots and racists blame President Obama for the economy he inherited.

I would start off by paying off mine and my dads student loans. Pay off all the credit cards for me my mom and dad. I would pay off my moms medical bills. I would pay all of the house bills about a year in advance. I would have a house built up on my dads property. I would set up a trust fund for my daughter. I would by all my immediate family a new vehicle and pay their insurance. I would also get my back fixed since the army won’t help me with that even though they caused it to become injured. I would also go to school to become an ultrasound technician. I would make sure that me and my daughter wouldn’t want for anything ever again. as for the rest of the money I would buy some essentials that we would need for where we live in Montana. I would take my mom in to have a full head to toe scan to make sure she is alright along with my dad since they both have issues that we cant really know yet since we are so poor we cant afford to take them to the clinic. I would also have someone come up and help log my property for fire protection. I know this sounds selfish but for me it’s something that would be different since for the last twenty- three years of my life and my daughters three years we have been living paycheck to paycheck and just barely staying afloat. Winning would make my familys life so much easier.

I would invest the $110M or so I would net and live completely off the interest. For that, I would travel the world. So as not to lose touch with my friends and family, but not travel with a posse like I’m a rap/rock star or pro athlete, I would create a website where I would set up my planned itinerary and my friends could register to come with me during their regular vacation times. Friends would be ranked with the top 2 or 3 always free to join in and the rest having to reserve a spot on the trip. The higher the ranking the farther out you could reserve a spot. Getting to/from the destination and all expenses on the trip I would pay for…

Seriously, I’d become debt free, payoff my home and then make sure that my children (I have a son with autism), and mom are set for life (all basic needs are met — including health, education). After that, I’d do whatever I could to make this world better. I’ve been through so much in my life… and would love to have a greater, wider impact. I know one thing, I wouldn’t waste such an opportunity on things that don’t matter in this life. One of my dreams is to create a transition house for young people who are exiting the foster care system, and help them continue to develop the life skills needed to lead a positive life.

i would hire the best director and we would make a movie of me telling my bosses how I really feel. Then i would buy 90 sec slots of commercials to air it. This would be the best of “How to tell your boss to go to ….” Then set up scholarships at my old school but make sure that they NEVER touch the $$$ only the interest from it.. that way this will last forever and have them build a building in my family name. Then take care of about 20-30 people in the family.. Pay their current house off and put a car or two in the garage and set a scholarship fund up for their kids. Place a million in a trust for them but with stipulations. 1) they must continue to work 2) they can never touch the money only the interest. I figured that since I have paid off their house and put a car or two in the garage they shouldn’t have any bills for a while and can truly live debt free. if they get 60 thousand a year from interest plus a part time job making 20-30k a year. that’s almost 90k with no mortgage or car note. Who can’t live that life. But if they break any one of these rules the money comes back to me..

4) Scoup up TONS of foreclosed properties, and give them back to the owner/resident, and allow them to live in their homes and not worry about mortgages. These would only be the ones who have truly suffered, ie job loss, death of a spouse/child, etc. Not the moochers who think they are entitled…..

Then I’d set up my own charity – the familes of military members who lost their lives while serving their country. Basically with income issues, college funds, etc. And then fund political candidates who put freedom first and are against the Nanny State.

I’d buy myself and my daughter a house and pay off my parents’ mortgage. I’d go to the doctor since I haven’t had so much as a check-up in about 6 years. I’d travel with my family and a few friends, give lots of money to charities and political causes. Once I made sure I’d done as much as I reasonably could for my loved ones, I’d go to graduate school and pursue my dream of becoming a Shakespearean scholar, or perhaps, because I wouldn’t have to worry about making a living, become a teacher at my daughter’s wonderful high school, DeKalb School of the Arts, and I’d take the lowest salary offered, or no salary at all.
I’d also make very careful investments, buy lots of real estate (the market has to recover someday).

I’d set up a financial system so that I could live off the interest, Then I’d buy a nice used car (nothing fancy enough for someone to want to steal), pay off all my student loans, pay for a laundry service, pay for a personal trainer for everyone in the family, buy only organic groceries, pay for someone to clean the house all the time, move into a little nicer house (nothing too big or fancy), invest in enough bookcases to have a library of over 20,000 books and then buy said 20,000 books, go to school and collect degrees like they’re baseball cards (part-time only of course), buy the best homeschool curriculum out there for my kids and homeschool them.

Hmmm—That’s a lot of dough! To save the economy and this country I’d put a good portion of it into making sure Obama doesn’t get another term! He definitely enjoys spending our tax dollars on all kinds of “failed” and corrupt ventures! Oh yes, I forgot! He inherited his bad money management from Bush! Isn’t it great to always have someone else to blame? Why on earth anyone would vote for another four years of this is insane! If this loser gets re-elected, we all better start putting “A LOT” of $$ aside for our kids and grandkids! They will never have anything but government debt to look forward to!

Pay off the school loans of many family members, set up a foundation to send REALLY deserving students to college and even graduate school, invest the rest. Oh, and probably get a new car to replace the 11-year-old compact that I’m driving.

I would pay off my 2 best friends houses. Buy a new car. Nothing flashy. I would build a house for myself with a large studio. Then I would build and open a Kennel to take in pets of any kind. The pets men and women are afraid to leave behind in an abusive situation/relationship, therefor they don’t leave. It is a horrible situation to be in, to love your pet so much and know if you leave it behind it will probably be tortured and/or killed. So you don’t leave to protect your (dog) that has loved you and helped you stay sane. We would take care of your pet until you can get it or find it a good home.

Buy a golf course and let worthy fund raisers use it for no charge. Land in the mountains for a deer camp. Fish camp on Ga. coast. I’d be broke in no time.

Give 10% to my church.
Give extremely generous donations to Salvation Army, my local library, cancer center in Houston, TX, set up trust funds for my children/grand-children. Get rid of my 18 year old car but buy another one same model. Put in new kitchen in my 50+ year old house. Travel more. Give to my local animal shelter to make it better for the critters who have to go there – pay adoption fee/shots/spaying fee for every dog/cat who comes through. Have a maid once weekly. Give my real thanks to the good Lord who has cared for me here on this earth.

I would tell everyone that I am no longer an ATM machine, and for the rest of my life I would live happily ever after. If only the most wonderful man would enter my life and appreciate me for all of the wonderful things I could possibly do for him and myself. Then I would settle down on a home and finally call it my own. And believe me, I mean “appreciate me”. I would totally give to CHARITY!!!!!

I would give a 10,000 friends the maximum amount allowed by law to give away [$13,000] only if they promise to give the maximum amount to elect Romney. WHY? To help rid ourselves of that demon now in the white house!. if that weren’t enough I would give more to another 10,000 friends. I would give it all if I could. We must save this country. It is dying. We must not let the libertines win. We must win!

The train would be me and Jen Aniston, Elisabeth Shue, Kate Holmes and Pippa.
THEN, I’d put up billboards all over the country, because network telly wouldn’t air my ads, explaining to the mindnumbingly idiotic voters that Obama has as much money as Romney. The difference is
Romney worked for his, Obama got his the Jesse Jackson way, never having had a job…

I would set up a fully-funded dental/medical clinic in my teaching district that would service all the basic health needs of the community such as hygiene, first aid, physicals, nutrition/weight loss counseling, basic dental care and treatment of minor illnesses and injuries that poor people usually go to emergency rooms for. Our schools could send sick or health-neglected children there during the school day. Poor kids could also get orthodontics there. What amazes me is how few of the ultrarich actually do any of these things when it is just a question of money.
