LegoLand at Phipps looking to fill jobs

Is there a Lego job in your future?

Legoland Discovery Center Atlanta, a $15 million attraction opening March 17 at Phipps Plaza in Buckhead, is looking to fill more than 100 part-time positions at a job fair Saturday and Sunday.

The job fair is being held from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. both days at the Marriott Buckhead Hotel & Conference Center, 3405 Lenox Road NE.

The jobs are in the areas of food and beverage, entertainment, retail, janitorial, admissions and cashiers. While the company says it prefers applicants with guest and entertainment experience, it didn’t say it would turn away applicants with other experiences.

Take your resume and references with you because there will be some on-site interviews, and dress appropriately.

The Phipps LegoLand, which will cover 35,000 square feet, will be the third in the nation. It will feature a MiniLand exhibit made from Legoland bricks that recreates landmark buildings in Atlanta. The attraction also will feature play areas, a 4-D cinema, rides and a master model builder will hold regular classes. The company says it’ll take two to three hours to experience all that the attraction has to offer.

I drove my lego car to the jobfair…..it does not use gas. Unfortunately, after a few potholes i broke down and had to superglue my car back together.

Can’t wait to take my now 2 year old. I can remember when my husband and I took our now 18 year old to LegoLand in San Diego, CA when he was 5 years old. We still pull out the pics from time to time and enjoy the memories.

If I step on another Lego I might shoot someone at Phipps. Legoland will only mean more Legos in my house with 4 kids. They should drop Legos over Afghanistan. None of them wear shoes and I’m certain they would surrender immediately.

What’s more clear with Employment report is that when it comes to joblessness, having a college degree is more important than ever that is why we need the help of High Speed Universities now

Awesome comment, Big Rig! When I was a kid, my Dad wanted to murder me for stepping on my legos. My 6 yr old just got into them and I am eagerly awaiting bloody foot Saturday morning.

It took me 4 1/2 hours to get into the interview and it was worth it. I hope my personality and value to the company came across. I really need a job. It has been over a year. I didn’t take unemployment benefits because I am single & I hoped Families were helped first. I just want to work.

Kim, what? Unemployment is paid by a payroll tax from your former employer. Your refusing benefits didn’t make anything better for anyone else.

Yep. UI is unemployment insurance. Would you turn down a check from your auto insurance carrier for accident damage? No.
