Re:
Existing Homeowner Credit:
I purchased a home in March 2009, I had lived in my prior home for 10 years and I'm within the income limits.
Did I miss the boat or is this retroactive to the first bill?
Also, it was a 2nd home, does that count?

Tax Credit Update – I updated my post to include a link to FAQ’s on the new credit..Also there have been a lot of good questions and answers on the topic which are there also…link to the update is:

http://realestateconsumernews.com/financing/home-buyer-tax-credit-extension-update-house-passes-bill-on-to-president-for-approval/

Most frequently asked question with an answer from the National Association of Realtors is:

Question: I am an existing homeowner. On October 25, 2009, I signed a contract to purchase a
new home. I have lived in my current home for more than 5 consecutive years and
am within the new income limits. I will go to settlement on November 20. If
President Obama has signed the bill by the time I go to settlement, will I qualify for
the new $6500 tax credit?

Answer: Yes. The existing homeowner credit goes into effect for purchases after the date of enactment
(when the bill is signed). There is no reference to the date of contract for the new credit. The
provision looks solely to the date of purchase, which is generally the date of settlement

Does anyone know if the UI extension is available for those who will run out of benefits after this year? The previous tiers all required using them up before 12/26/09. What if you lost your job later in the year and won't use them up in time? Will this new extension help them?

This is for show. Everyone is forgetting that the extensions expire Dec 2009. How can the Senate claim to be giving 14-20 extra weeks when there are only 7 weeks left until the expiration. This expiration effects the majority of the unemployed. Perhaps the Senators should unemployed after the next election since they obviously believe their constituants can't do basic math.
