1. urccjss, should a “peace prize” be awarded to someone simply because he “cares about peace” or should the honoree actually have accomplished something? Obama still has U.S. troops in Iraq, has escalated the war in Afghanistan (but won’t give the commander the troops he requested so the war could end more quickly, i.e. victory), has reneged (not a racist word Corey) on a U.S. agreement to provide a defensive missile shield for Poland and Croatia, and has distanced himself from Israel–making Iran’s nuclear missile program a near certainty. When that happens, that entire region will be “nuclearized” by other countries wanting to defend themselves from Iran. How’s that for peace?!

2. Medgar Evers was a NAACP official in Mississippi who was gunned down in his driveway by Byron De La Beckwith. There are many people gunned down in the City of Atlanta weekly. Should we name naval vessels after them? Perhaps F-22 Raptors–no, we can’t do that because Obama doesn’t want us to have any more of them. Interestingly, the ship named after Evers delivers food and supplies to other ships–which is fitting given the redistributionist nature of the Democrat party. What’s next: The U.S.S. Charlie Rangel?

3. Reality, it should be apparent to you (are you a rocket scnientist?) that Obama and the majority of the Nobel committee are, shall we say, simpatico? Both the committee and Obama believe in collectivism, are statists, and like to reward people who apologize for atrocities committed by the U.S. such as (a) defending ourselves, and (b) defending other countries. You probably value “diversity”, so what would be wrong with having more people who actually contribute something useful to society on the Nobel committee?

Leftists believe one’s feeeeelings are what matters. Not their morals, ethics, actions–their feeeeelings. Rather than bringing peace through strength, Obama invites provocation by our enemies by signaling acquiescence to our enemies.
