It’s a very hearty day for news stories.
On the local scene, there are plenty of interesting ones — from Atlanta unable to collect a hefty amount on water bills to Duluth-based AGCO settling a kickback case.
Home Depot is anxiously awaiting the sales tax holiday for energy products that begins tonight and Coke is putting calorie data on the front of its packages. There’s also a proposed settlement in the Pike Nurseries bankruptcy case.
Nationally, Bank of America CEO Ken Lewis is stepping down and there’s a report that Comcast may be interested in buying NBC-Universal from GE.
Also, the International Monetary Fund said today that the global economy is recovering faster than expected.

Corporate fraud is leveling off. That means the nadir has been achieved.
The term I used to use, corporate greed, which I realize now is corporate norm,is alive and kicking.Vick signs with Nike.A shining example to set before the youth of America.

The Home Depot just leased their landmark Lindburgh store to The Dump. They seem to be bragging about it and what a great contribution it is to Atlanta and the area.
WTF? Well, it does seem to be an appropriate name for the area and HD’s latest contribution to Atlanta. I think I will go there today to take my own Dump.
