The stipulation that disqualifies first-time home buyers from receiving the full tax credit if they purchased in 2008 is unfair. With the new legislation anyone other than those who first took part and trusted in this program is eligible.
I am a law-abiding and taxpaying citizen and I have worked very hard to purchase my first home. I went through the full process of taking out a loan and signing a contract and it is not right that I do not qualify for this tax credit just like everyone else.
I know there are many others who also fall into this category.

I purchased in Sept of 2008. I am a single dad and get no support from ex. Kids and I have not found one program to help us. I make a single middle class income. We took the credit to pay for washer dryer etc. I see millions going to someone or some bank or some car company, but my family has not seen anything. Now my student loans have skyrocketed, my credit card companies are hitting me with more fees, my health insurance has gone up, and secretly groceries have tripled but no one says anything. This credit not being extended to those of us that first took part in the program is a disgrace and I regret having to have had to use it. The new credit is open to all home buyers. The only ones who cannot benefit from this program are those who were the first to trust it. And here is the only place I can vent… maybe 1 person will read this. Powerlinep on facebook.

Please extend it. My wife and I were "on the fence" for quite a while about purchasing our first home; wanting to make sure we made the right decision at the right time given the current state of the economy. We decided on a builder and signed a contract to build our house. We are now behind schedule and it does not appear that the house will be completed in time for us to close on our loan by the November 30th deadline. We are now considering walking away from our $1k downpayment and possibly getting back in the market at a later date. There's nothing like losing $8k to put you right back on the fence when considering this large of a purchase.

No this should not be extended along with all the other give aways from the government. I have not received a penny from the government to pay for my house, windows, car or anything. This is a waste of money. The people buying these houses now will be in foreclosure with in two years because they do not know how to take of themselves. They are the give me generation.... They want everything handed to them on a platter.

When I was a single parent making $7 an hour I made too much to get a penny in help from the government. Now as long as you wait long enough the government will help you with everything. Give me a break.

The government should give a stimilus to everyone the same. They should tax everyone the same. Why go to college to pay for everyone else to buy a house.

It must be extended, I'm looking for my first place to live but not have enough down payment to reduce monthly payments. Extention of 2-3 months, It'll works for me. I hope it's not me only, everyone who is thinking to buy his/her first place has some issues so they might need some more time.

Please extend it, I'm in the middle of a short sale, 3 months I've been waiting now, their is no telling if I will make it before the time runs out and the deadline is around the corner. Maybe they could make a clause for short sale people in contract prior to deadline may still be eligiable.....

I think that it should be extended, because we are wanting to buy a home and we are military. Living overseas has caused us not to be able to buy a home this year, but we are moving at the later part of Dec 09 to our new base where we will be buying our 1st home and getting ready to retire from the military. We could really have used the $8,000 tax credit.

My husband and I are trying very hard to find a way to afford a house just to get the $8000- tax credit. Extending it would be a wish come true. I know many people that have bought houses this year just because of the tax credit. Quite an incetive I say. Please extend it for all of us who are still trying. Thank you!!

Please extend the credit!!! I am actually attempting to buy a house right now and I am doing so in hopes of receiving the $8,000 tax credit. If not for this tax credit we would not be trying to buy a house currently. It looks like we're going to be cutting it close on the deadline so I'm hoping it could be extended. Can we anyone give me any kind of advice on the tax credit? Things I should know, do, or expect? I've heard the process can be lengthy and I'm just now in the process of being approved for a loan. Any advice appreciated.
