Let me get this straight…CNBC says that we have the #1 workforce, we’re #10 in business, we’re #27 in education, we’re #38 in the economy and #42 in quality of life. Quite frankly none of this correlates. But then, what’s the source? CNBC.

OVER-taxed? (according to DarrellHarrison). If anything Georgians are UNDER-taxed. If you want to have educated children, mass transit and less congestion, adequate police and fire protection and health services you need to get the money from somewhere — and that is taxes. They are a necessary evil, but they are necessary.

Tax the rich. So they make $80 million instead of $90 million this year. Cry me a river. Help out small business by providing government health insurance so that the small business owners don’t go bankrupt trying to provide it to their employees.

I’m out of Georgia. Need a better job, a public transporation system that goes somewhere. Where am I going — to DC!!!

So it doesn’t cost much to have a poor eduction system and a poor quality of life. And that’s news? Georgia a great place to sell goods but a lowsy place to live if you are a child.

People need to know what transportation means in this context. They are not referring to traffic conjestion or rapid transit availability. They are referring to means of moving goods. With the largest airport in the world, a major rail hub, and an interstate system which intersects in Atlanta, it is a very good environment for businesses which move goods.

The kind of transportation most of you are thinking of is probably part of qthe quality of life catagory.

After having lived in the DC area for 10 years I can understand why people would move to Georgia. DC has the 2nd worst traffic, one of the highest costs of living, the people are unfriendly and crime is rampant.

Because it is cheap. And probably because the people moving there couldn’t compete in the states they move from. I’ve seen plenty of people from DC that couldn’t cut it and move to ATL. If you can’t cut it in ATL, you don’t even want to try it in DC or NYC.
