It’s another sign of the times: Mompreneurs.
AJC reporter David Markiewicz writes about the rising number of mothers in metro Atlanta who run businesses from home. They make and sell everything from furniture to food, while also watching the kids.
Like others in the labor force, they are trying to balance family and work. Only they do it at the same time, in the same place.
But Markiewicz points out that this is not a solution for every recession-battered family: Running a business with kids around is not easy. The risk, he says, is that mompreneurs wind up doing neither job well.
