GM, Tropicana and KFC all take it on the chin.
Fortune has come up with its “Dumbest Moments in Business 2009″ feature.
There are 10 of them, including what it says is a “ridiculous” idea by GM to partner with Segway.
Fortune also lambasts Tropicana for a botched redesign and KFC for running out of chicken, as well as Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner.

My entry: Wal-Mart’s endorsement this week of “pay or play” whereby businesses would be required by law to provide a certain level of benefits (determined by, you guessed it, Obama) or face a fine. By doing this, Wal-Mart throws its considerable weight behind the Democrats’ plans for socialized medicine. Mr. Sam wouldn’t have considered this the Wal-Mart way.

Big Boom- you are actually pretty stupid yourself. The country was heading into a recession when Bush took office. Go back and check before you put your foot in your mouth. Has nothing to do race Mr Play The Race Card. Check your history on Clinton and the “everbody gets a house” deal. Democrats, black, white, green, yellow and whatever are the ones who are running this country into the ground.

Business is great at calculating cost, but terrible at figuring out what it’s worth. Getting rid of people and products because they cost too much without relaizing they are worth a whole lot more.
Curcuit City getting rid of their commissioned sales people who were worth their weight in gold and replacing them with minimum wage flunkies who knew next to nothing about their products driving away high $$ customers who expect serice and knowlegde from the people who want them to drop $2500 on a television.

Chris, did you say heading into a recession? Umm, the country was already in a recession before Bush acknowledged it. With many people who HATE Obama, it does have a lot to do with race. You check your history. I bet you can’t come up with one positive thing to say about Obama except for “he speaks well”. Same for everyone else who dislikes/hates him. Same old rhetoric. I’m with you Big Boom.

This is the biggest crock of you-know-what! Just because someone a) lives in the South and b) disagrees with President Obama’s policies does NOT mean it is because of his race!!! Are you saying that because he is black, no one can legitimately disagree with the President or his policies without being labeled racist? Are you not being a bigot against Southern whites yourself for slinging around such baseless accusations?
This constant playing of the “race card” is getting real old, real fast. Not only that, doing so further damages race relations in this country which have obviously improved vastly on many fronts in the last 40 years. Please stop.

Obama and Geitner (TAX CHEAT) made the list. Only 20% of the top ten. What about Pelosi and Obama for the Cap and Tax Scheme? What about the Preserved Jobs rhetoric of the Bailout (Stimulus) stuff? What about Government Motors Corporation (GMC)?

AT&T’s website says “U-verse is not available in your area yet. Register your e-mail address and we’ll let you know when it’s in your area.”
Two months later I still haven’t heard from AT&T, but my neighbor is telling me about the U-verse she had installed last week!
Great marketing tool for AT&T…NOT!!

The biggest mistake that is occuring is the government taking over business in this counrty. There goes our capitalistic society, hello Marxism. This is what we Republican’s face daily as the minority. The press/media is controlled by the Democrats, so their propoganda machine reports what it is told too. Hence, the questions such as proof that Obambi is an American citizen has NEVER been proven. You forget that Billy Clinton passed legislation so everyone could fulfill the American Dream of owning a home and that it was Bush who saw the trainwreck coming and tried to pass legislation to regulate the Banks and lending institutions from loaning money to people who could not afford them in the first place. It didn’t pass in the democratic controlled congress. Why is that foreclosures are at an all time high?
America will find out the truth about Obambi, his Chicago mafia and Acorn. They are all corrupt and mislead the American people.
You all continue to support this anti-Christ and soon you will realize that America is no longer a respected leader in the world, but rather confined to third world status. Continue to turn your cheek to lillegals that are sucking the life out of this nation and the people who refuse to improve their economic futures by remaining on welfare. These are exactly the ones the democrats want to continue to rely on the government because they are the majority that gets THEM elected.
Frankly, I could care less if Obambi is purple or green, I had the same disdain for Billy Clinton. So, don’t bother playing the race card.

Chris – sorry, but no one on this board (or any other) has a memory far-reaching enough to recall that. Kudos, sir, kudos.
This race-card game is funny. Racists, partisans, etc. – what’s the difference? Country would rather have a pissing contest over who to blame than recognize that, sometimes, incompetence comes in many shapes, sizes and colors.
