Census workers can enter your apartment in your absence

Thousands of census workers, including many temporary employees, are fanning out across America to gather information on the citizenry.  This is a process that takes place not only every decade in order to complete the constitutionally-mandated census; but also as part of the continuing “American Community Survey” conducted by the Census Bureau on a regular basis year in and year out.

What many Americans don’t realize, is that census workers — from the head of the Bureau and the Secretary of Commerce (its parent agency) down to the lowliest and newest Census employee — are empowered under federal law to actually demand access to any apartment or any other type of home or room that is rented out, in order to count persons in the abode and for “the collection of statistics.”  If the landlord of such apartment or other  leased premises refuses to grant the government worker access to your living quarters, whether you are present or not, the landlord can be fined $500.00.

That’s right — not only can citizens be fined if they fail to answer the increasingly intrusive questions asked of them by the federal government under the guise of simply counting the number of people in the country; but a landlord must give them access to your apartment whether you’re there or not, in order to gather whatever “statistics” the law permits.

In fact, some census workers apparently are going even further and demanding — and receiving — private cell phone numbers from landlords in order to call tenants and obtain information from them.  Isn’t it great to live in a “free” country?

COLD WARRIOR Said “I still haven’t figured out any valid reason why the census would need to know the names of residents. If you’re simply counting people, the names are unimportant.”

Think past your nose, numbnuts. How do you know if you’ve counted the same person once, twice or two hundred times without names? Jeez. My guess is you “still haven’t figured out” ANYTHING.

Another easy thing to do is just lie on all the answers. Remember, if you answer the census correctly you are helping the federal government. The more people they count the more federal money and tax dollars will be demanded. If you have 5 people in your house, say 1! Don’t claim more than you have, that just increases the theft.

Has anyone seen the US Census Bureau – The American Community Survey? Now that’s intrusive!
Asking for number of cars, value of home, amount of 1st and 2nd mortgage payments, how much income by w-2, interest rent and so forth……not range of income but amount. Want’s to know what time you go to work etc. Contains everything in order to steal your id except your SSN, but also is a great way to “case” your house for a robbery.

Suzy Says: “AND I WOULD SHOOT THEM IF I CAUGHT THEM COMING OUT OF MY HOUSE OR EVEN BARGING IN! I WOULD GO TO PRISON FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE BECAUSE I WOULD NOT CARE!!!!!!!! NO ONE IS GOING TO COME INTO MY HOME LIKE THAT. PERIOD. END OF STORY.”

Calm down Suzy, the story is false. They can’t enter your home, you don’t have to kill anybody and you especially don’t need CAPS. Try decaf.

One of the questions asked about the actions of a census worker in your home while you are not there is what would they be doing if their only reason was to count people. That is not all the information they want to gather. They are also asking about you plumbing. How many bathtubs / showers do you have? Do you have toilets? How about a bidet? Do you use gas or electricity to cook with? How many bedrooms do you have and are they in use? Are the people living there married or not? Are you or anyone in the home a veteran? And what I think is the BIG one … Are you a gun owner? Do you want this type of questioning? Most of this information they can get while searching your apartment or rented home. We once had people arrested for this. If we came home and caught them in our homes doing this search without a cop and a warrant, we could shoot them. So much for safety and the right to privacy in your home.

For those of you who may or may not be aware, Germany used census information in a way that was LESS than honorable. Try reading for a change.

Gary Barnett stated in an article entitled “The Census And History” this:

“The most heinous use of the census process was that of the Nazi Census System. The Hitler regime, according to Gotz Aly and Karl Heinz Roth in their book The Nazi Census, developed the techniques the Nazis employed to track, gather information, and control populations. This was the initiation of the modern system of citizen registration, and was the pioneering impetus for both the concepts and the processes of modern statistics-gathering about populations. Counts began with the collection of data concerning Germans, but ended with the specific collection of information about Jews and other minorities. The results, as everyone now knows, were devastating! One has to wonder; does this knowledge of past census fact force one to question why one of the main functions of our own decennial census is to verify race and ethnicity?

Try reading a chapter from the book “The Nazi Census” by Götz Aly and Karl Heinz Roth. Those who fail to remember history are doomed themselves to repeat it. Hitler was an elected official. All we need is some wanna be “Mr Fix It.” who wants to “solve all our problem” who is really a mass murdering despot at heart and we could suffer the same type of fate.

The worker called from a legitimate number and stated all of the codes in the law . I checked out the number and that is why I answered the second caller’s questions. I was told that they would keep calling to ask these questions if I did not answer. It was not a fake it was a form of government harassment.

Hello, Yellow Journalism!

You should be ashamed of your misleading headline all the way down to your lowliest fear-inducing sentence.

No Census worker has the right to ENTER your apartment, just your apartment building to knock on your door…during daylight hours. You have the right not to answer if you are so paranoid.

The US Census has been done every ten years…CONSISTENTLY SINCE 1790…and is written into the US Constitution to count the people and determine Federal Representation…what could be more American than that?

Then again, your fear-mongering is what the New America is all about. Thanks for being part of the problem, Barr!

Bob Barr you are a LYING SCUMBAG!!
The federal govt. has NO jurisdiction within the States! That’s what the federal Constitution says at the end of Article 1 section 8. You Bob Barr are obviously part of the propaganda campaign to get the sheeple to accept tyranny- in the guise of your sheepish responce which is basically “oh well what can we do, it’s the law”.
WRONG!! Even if a law is passed- it’s not to be enforced if it it unconstitutional- it is in fact not a law! Famous cases like Marbury v. Madison and Miranda v. Arizona have stated that fact- that if a law is passed by ANY legislature, local, State or Congress, and it violates the Constitution or individual rights in any way- then it IS NOT A LAW, and therefore we can ignore it and lawfully ‘break’ that law. You Barr are promoting sheepledom. No one has to answer anything on a census form other than how many people live in any abode- that’s it! You would have people believe that the fourth amendment etc. are out the window. You didn’t even include any lip service to resisting these unconstitutional ‘laws’ through the legislative process, nevermind civil disobedience! You are a supreme scumbucket and I spit on your mother’s grave you traitor!

I have had two different census workers try and get me to talk to them, one at the building entrance and one who got into the building and was at my door. So Billy Bob, the government shouldn’t provide a census then, right? I mean, where were you Nazi hunters during the last administration? Individual liberties were thwarted big-time back then and not one peep from you guys.

As far as the census is concerned, the United States conducted the first census in 1790. And it was conducted by federal marshalls. And they wanted it. Why? Because they wanted to ensure that their tax dollars were handled more adequately. 1790!

So just because the Nazis used certain tools to a nefarious benefit doesn’t make the tool evil. Hitler completed the Autobahn… so should we tear up our highways?

I would like to point out that if one can read and one can comprehend, one will find that the federal government was granted only 4 punishment powers, 3 in Article 1, Section 8 and one in Article 3 Section 3. They are explicit. The Framers knew that these powers had to be granted in the Constitution nd this fact provides proof absolute that the feds have no punishment authority with respect to any other grants of power. This also means that 99.9% of all the federal punishment laws are illegal and in violation of the Constitution. Think: Something as simple as the power to punish counterfeiting had to be explicitly granted. Even the power to punish treason HAD TO BE granted. If an inherent power such as punishing treason was not part of the power of the federal government without an explicit grant, can any otehr so-called inherent power actually exist? The answer is NO!!!!!

Each person must get out of the box into which his or her education sealed that person. Quit believing what they told you and learn for yourself. Yes, the feds CAN still come get you. They are still wrong and you are right to resist. It may cost you but in order to maintain what the Framers envisioned we must all fight the battle.

Robnsn asks “Has anyone seen the US Census Bureau – The American Community Survey?”

To that I answer a loud “yes”. I got that in 2009. When I failed to give out what they consider the requisite answers, the US Census called my UNPUBLISHED (meaning only law enforcement can legally get it without my permission) phone number at least twice a day for a month and a half. Is this not harassment on top of intrusive questions?

So, when did the Census get law enforcement status? They didn’t, but apparently Verizon and the other big telecom boys are intimidated by those gentle “unintrusive” folks at the US Bureau of the Census. The threat of fines scares the crap out of a lot of companies. Or, maybe they are on the same team with a different front man.

Get a clue folks — especially all you temp workers for the Census itself. Do you really think that it’s necessary to ask if anyone needs assistance bathing? Or what time I leave for work? These ARE a part of the “Long form” ACS I got last year. It’s not on the standard form, but whether I am Hispanic, or originally from Korea or Kathmandu is not relevant to the stated purpose of the Census in the US Constitution — namely allocation of the seats in the US House of Representatives. Nothing but a number is needed. Period. And that is what they got.

The US Government is not your friend. As Ronald Reagan was known to say “the nine most terrifying words in the English language are ‘We’re from the government and we’re here to help’”.
