Yes, it’s that time again. Let’s talk about pizza.
It’s been almost two-and-a-half years since we last asked about pizza in Atlanta, so we definitely need to update this one.
It’s said that even when it’s bad, it’s still pretty good. But why eat bad pizza when there’s so much good stuff out there? First, we need to know where to find that amazing pizza. That’s where you come in. Whether it’s thin and crispy or thick and chewy, we want to hear about your favorite place for a slice (or a whole pie).
Tell us your pick for the best place to get pizza in and around Atlanta, and what makes it so special.

Savage Pizza uses canned soup as a topping. If you write “Savage Pizza” your ISDN will be logged and you will be banned from commenting on food again.
Savage Pizza was fine 15 years when there were no other good pizza options in L5P, but there is no reason to eat there now. Unless you just prefer sticky table tops. You can lterally walk (unless you’re too fat) over to Camelli’s or just go to Starbuck’s next door and get a tall regular coffee and smoke a cigarette and wait for that hunger feeling to pass.

Best pizza in Woodstock area is Taste of Italy on Highway 92 between 575 and Bells Ferry Road…..Big Pie in the Sky in Kennesaw is also very good, but they really need more seating and updated interior.

Love Blue Moon because I love the herbs on the crust! And if we can extend the area to Columbus, Ohio Rubino’s is the best!

“The choices are limited….one size, no slices, strict enforcement of topping options.” Sounds like Antico is one of those places that has good pie but needlessly fussy/rude atmosphere. No thanks. I’ll never understand the appeal of places that go out of their way to be rude or sloppy in their service. Having said that, Fellini’s Howell Mill is awesome in both pie and service. Mellow Mushroom deserves a mention as well.

It might be a bit of a drive, but Joeys’ Pizza (owned by two guys named Joey thus the apostrophe after the “s”) in Harvey Cedars on Long Beach Island, NJ is the best.

Anyone who says Fellinis or Mellow Mushroom has obviously never been north of Raleigh and should not be commenting about pizza.

Antico is such a newbie answer. Yes, it’s pretty good and trendy but I think Napoli and Hearth in Sandy Springs are just as good if not better. Hearth is rumored to be opening a new place at Lenox soon…

Avellino’s in Decatur. I invite anyone who voted Antico to try them out. I was a devout Antico customer, until I tried them out. Antico pizza is slightly better than Avellino’s (not by much), but you have OPTIONS and FRIENDLY service at Avellino’s, and that makes Avellino’s the better option.
