Yes, it’s that time again. Let’s talk about pizza.
It’s been almost two-and-a-half years since we last asked about pizza in Atlanta, so we definitely need to update this one.
It’s said that even when it’s bad, it’s still pretty good. But why eat bad pizza when there’s so much good stuff out there? First, we need to know where to find that amazing pizza. That’s where you come in. Whether it’s thin and crispy or thick and chewy, we want to hear about your favorite place for a slice (or a whole pie).
Tell us your pick for the best place to get pizza in and around Atlanta, and what makes it so special.

Antico, yeah. But if we’re stretching the Big A enough to include Athens, Ted’s Most Best is a close #2.

And here I go, 2 1/2 years later still saying that Antico makes the best pie in the GMA area. The ingredients are fantastic and the chew on the slightly charred crust is perfect. It isn’t complicated because it doesn’t have to be. The choices are limited….one size, no slices, strict enforcement of topping options. No subs or pastas. Just Pizza!

What ever happed to Dante’s Pizza in Smyrna? In the 80’s this place dominated the “Best of Atlanta” pizza survey. I moved from the area and I was wondering if this place was still in business. Anybody know?

Antico wins for the freshness and experience. But if you are looking for a simple slice and a beer or a place with options, Moe’s Pizza off Briarcliff and Clairmont is perfect! Felini’s is another great option especially in good weather when you can sit on the porch and watch traffic.

Excessive Punctuation = Overeater
February 18th, 2013
1:54 pm
Ever wonder why some people get so excited when writing about food that they use multiple exclamation points????
Like when I write “It’s Johny’s Pizzur Shack. There bread stix is the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Excessive punctuation is actually a cry for help. It is simply the writer’s way of communicating that they haven’t even a modicum of self-control, and they are so food-obsessed that they cannot even communicate about food without getting carried away with hyperbolic phrases and absurdly redundant punctuation.
If you or someone you love suffers from this disorder, please remind them that McDonald’s french fries are the best!!!!!!!!!! They’re sooo salty!!!!!!! And I love fountain drinks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cameli’s Pizza – the one on Ponce is my favorite – because of their pizza sauce. Also has the most awesome chicken pesto sandwich on grilled rosemary bread – absolutely to die for
