Favorite Georgia reality star

146611034PB00137_Premiere_OIt’s always nice when the good guy wins. It happened on “American Idol” this year, and it happened with our latest Best of the Big A. Leesburg’s Phillip Phillips is your pick and our pick for favorite Georgia reality star. Photo: Getty Images

1. Phillip Phillips (“American Idol”)
You say, “Humble, authentic, talented. And he won!”

2. Richard Blais (“Top Chef,” the upcoming “Life After Top Chef”)
3. Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson (“Toddlers and Tiaras,” “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo”)
4. Kevin Gillespie (“Top Chef”)
5. Stevie J (“Love and Hip Hop Atlanta”)
6. Hector Santiago (“Top Chef”)

1. Phillip Phillips
We say, “Sometimes, nice guys do finish first. That’s what happened on “American Idol” this year when this talented Leesburg native took the top prize. He comes across as a genuine, down-to-earth guy who hasn’t let the spotlight go to his head.”

2. Richard Blais
3. Joseline Hernandez (“Love and Hip Hop Atlanta”)
4. NeNe Leakes (“Real Housewives of Atlanta,” the upcoming “The New Normal”)
5. Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson

If you do not know who Honey Boo Boo is, look it up on you tube, then burn your computer. I also recommend a lot of couch time with a well trained psychologist. I am sorry that I even saw the trailer.

Honey Boo Boo is a disgrace to the state of Georgia……who in the world would watch this? I just hope that people do not think we are all like that family.

Ryan Seacrest for the people with real jobs. Honey Boo Boo and family for the reality freak show people.

So disappointing. I am left speechless at the insane things that are put on TV and what people consider entertainment.

Gotta be Richard Blais!!! I was so proud to see what an incredilble chef and person he was on his seasons of Top Chef. Plus his growth since has been incredible, lots of new restaurants, cook books etc… Great representative of Atlanta!

We’ve had several good people on Chopped, sorry that I don’t remember the names..We’ve also had a few on The Next Food Network Star…These are my favorites..These are also the only “reality” shows that I watch, the other (IMO) are just plain stupid..

I have no desire to see Honey Boo Boo, any of the “Housewives” or any that might be on Toddlers and Tiaras..I can’t believe that people are that desperate to be “famous” if that what you call them..

Gotta go with the chefs. The rest of Georgia’s reality “stars” are an embarrassment to the state. RHOA and Honey Boo Boo make me want to a state with more culture – like Alabama or Mississippi.

I’m with Becky and KK on this – chef competitors. I think Justin (one from before the rebellious Justin) is from here, plus some Chopped folks! Love to see ATL in the background shots.

Say what you want, but Honey Boo-Boo’s mom is getting lots of TV face time. Get it? Face time! hahahaha.

I actually like her country lil heiny! LOL! The family is in deed warpped, but they aren’t fake and trying to be what they are NOT. It’s so hipocritical to see people want to oust Alena but bask in the glory of the same behaviors on the other side of society. UGH!

Definitely Honey Boo Boo Child. How many of these other nominees can say they shot to stardom at six? Not only that, the majority of them have been shellacked and contorted into something unrecognizable – not Honey Boo Boo Child. She’s still just a sweet, natural little girl. Like the state she’s representing, she has no problem wallering in the mud. Despite Atlantans contempt and embarrassment, if you drive anywhere outside the buffer suburbs that separate us from them, you’ll find plenty of Mama and Sugar Bears and their broods. It’s the state we live in.

My favorite reality stars ( yes, I have two ) one that dam Stevie J ” if they would only understand we can all be happy” and Scrappy “I want put them paws on him” on ATL Love and Hop!!!! Now that some crazy $h@t !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I watched Honey Boo Boo last night and ATL Hip Hop…both are entertaining and sad at the same time. Sometimes the truth hurts and this is their truth. It’s not only a life lived in Georgia, but all over the USA. But, as someone said above, you’ve got to love the fact that they are so true to themselves, who they are and I would love to hang out with them one day. I laughed so much and shook my head a few times, but I could not deny their dedication to family and one another. No jealousy or hatred between siblings and although unmarried, Shugie loves Mama and that’s all that matters to Alana and her sisters.
