The AJC dining team’s specialist in Southern and Neighborhood Fare Jenny Turknett says, “If there’s one street eat in this town you shouldn’t miss, it’s the smoked pork arepas from the W.O.W. truck. Moist and smoky pulled pork topped with a bright cilantro-cream sauce overflows from a buttery griddled corn cake. Messy, yes, but delightfully so.”

“The Blaxican” is definitely my favorite. I am usually more of a meat eater but the collard green quesadilla with cojita cheese is absolutely amazing! 2nd is the WOW food truck, for their smoked pork arepas. This is really making me hungry, mmmmm!

I love Tex’s Taco’s for the lime fries and their chicken quesadilla. I know everyone gets their tacos, but the quesadillas are tasty too.
Second I’d say Nana G’s because I love a good waffle and if you add some boneless chicken even better.
Third place goes to Tastee Truck. I’ve only had their three cheese grilled cheese sandwich with bacon once, but I stil this about it. Can’t wait for the fall so I can pair it with a cup of hot tomato soup. mmmm-mmmm
Yeah I know I was only supposed to pick one but I couldn’t

Definitely the smoked Pork Arepas from WOW!!! I travel from Suwanee to indulge in them and finish off my visit with the Banana Pudding Pop from King of Pops! Oh yeah, and then I have to take home a bag of Creole Pretzels from ChayJ’s! Believe it or not, I was able to make it all the way back to Suwanee without breaking into the pretzels this last trip!!! Love the food trucks and trying something new each time…people are great…great concept…just need more shade!

Crawdaddy’s Cajun and Creole. Rome, GA. This great trailer makes the rounds of five locations in Rome weekly. Chicken and andouille jambalaya is great. Po-boys are fantastic. Bread pudding with praline sauce makes the meal complete.

Roger’s hotdog cart downtown on Peachtree, at the corner of John Portman (what used to be Harris St.) is the best, and definitely has the best bratwurst in the Southeast. And Roger’s a great guy.

Fry Guy is very tasty, especially honey sriracha mayo. Honeysuckle Gelato let’s you get two scoops, like one fruit (watermelon! pineapple!) and one sweet (smore!). They’re all sweet people, too.

This is a toughie, but I’m gonna have to go with the Good Food Truck. While the truck itself may not look as fancy as some of the others, every time I have ordered from them at a festival or gathering, people approach me nonstop, asking where they can get what I’m having. Though the “Poodle” is recognized as their signature dish, their cones are my personal favorite–they’re inventive, tasty, seasonal, often vegetarian-friendly, and portable. Healthy, fresh, and delicious food on the go!
