You say, “Absolutely Inman Park Spring Festival and Tour of Homes! Wonderful homes on tour, 3 stages with great music, quality arts & crafts, good food and beer, the most beautiful neighborhood, and a fun children’s activity area to top it of.”

OUR PICKS
1. Inman Park Festival
We say, “The shady, tree-lined streets of Inman Park are the coolest place to be – in more ways the one – during the last full weekend of April. The parade, rivaled only by Little Five Points’ Halloween parade for outrageous fun, is the centerpiece, but the fantastic assortment of local artists and craftspeople and a solid lineup of live entertainment contribute to making this our favorite springtime treat.”

The Kirkwood Spring Fling! Can’t wait to see if the crowds are back; meaning that the economy is starting to regain its footing.

Used to love the Dogwood Festival, until last year, when I parked on a curb along with about 500 other cars, with not a single “no parking” sign around, to come back and find a ticket on my car, and only on about 6 others out of hundreds, and of course, all of us with tix were not Fulton Co tags!
So now, I won’t be going back again. And the “take Marta” crap just doesn’t work for someone in East Cobb, who has to drive further to reach a Marta station than to drive to the event. And when I did take Marta for the Paul McCartney Green concert a few years ago, the walk to and from the nearest station was untenable for a 66 year old woman with arthritis in all joints!
Atlanta proper parking really and truly SUX! They need to find other ways to make money than sucking it out of people coming into the city/county to spend money on festivals, concerts, restaurants, shopping, etc.

Old lady from Cobb: you can park in a lot right across the street from the Dogwood festival for about $5. All you have to do is walk across the street and you’re there. If you have a handicapped hangtag, there are numerous places to park where you won’t get a ticket or towed.

When DOES Spring start anyway? I know there’s an official start date, but I suppose I’m more interested in the “weather-accurate” start date…
