1.Gumbeaux’s Cajun Café
You say, “So worth the drive. The food is incredible and inexpensive. I just got back from New Orleans and it tastes just like the food there” and “Great food great atmosphere, most of the staff have been there forever and really make you feel part of the family. They always have great specials and 50¢ shrimp night. Their food is amazing and the portions are huge. Also the best banana pudding I have ever put in my mouth (sorry grandma ) lol. Seriously we go here on a regular basis and always refer our friends, clients and family. Check it out you will not be disappointed.”

1. (tie) Gumbeaux’s Cajun Cafe, Douglasville and Adele’s Authentic Cajun Experience, Roswell
The AJC dining team’s specialist in Southern and Neighborhood Fare Jenny Turknett says, “Both of my top picks serve the spicier cajun fare and both have mastered the depth of flavor frequently neglected in favor of naked heat. Opt for the sampler platters at each so that you can taste a range of dishes including shrimp creole, jambalaya and gumbo. At Gumbeaux’s, which opened in 1994, don’t miss the jambalaya bursting with smoky heat. At Adele’s, a relative newcomer, having opened in the last 6 months, try the shrimp creole, which is brothy, tangy and packed with tomato flavor.”

Gumbeaux’s in Douglasville is by far the best! From the huge portions of authentic Cajun food to the NOLA inspired fun loving atmosphere, it’s the perfect place for any occasion! The staff knows how to make you feel like family and the rum bread pudding will make you never want to leave!

Henry’s Louisiana Grille in Acworth is the best we’ve ever had & consistently stops us from talking due to the “oh my god” & mmmmmm sounds. Always great service too & real fun on the weekend!

Henry’s Louisiana Grille, hands down. Tried Pappadeux’s (both locals) couple of times, & they can’t hold a stick to Henry’s… portions are just as good w/better pricing, atmosphere is tons better, staff is OUTSTANDING, & food is amazing. I’ve never had the same meal twice, & its an easy go-to for out-of-town company.
